REALLY good for experienced woodwind players, not for beginners
both beginner and level 2 books require the student to already know how to read music. HUGE plus as most books are meant for day 1 beginners. the overall feeling of these books is exactly what i wanted: get an experienced woodwind player up and running the fastest. and it does, a day or so for flute/piccolo/oboe/sax woodwind players!

Good but definitely advanced
Good for someone picking up the recorder as a second instrument and even then, only after having mastered Hot Cross Buns. It starts with F5 and goes up from there. Assumes you already know how to read music and figure out rhythyms. That said, I think the worst of the key signatures were 4 sharps or 4 flats. Heh.

A Great Sequel to Volume 1
The first volume is a great introduction to the recorder, and teaches the notes most frequently used and the most basic techniques. This volume is a great sequel, continuing the introduction to the remaining notes and teaching more advanced techniques. In volume 1 you learn to play notes. In volume 2 you learn to play with feeling, including more complex slurring between notes that require synchronized finger movements.

Great recorder instruction book
this is an excellent, well organized, well written, recorder, book. Although I have been playing for several years, my new teacher recommended this and I am getting a lot out of it. I recommend!

Came back for book 2
Loved book one and came back for book two! Fits niche for adults. Much material of interest to apply each point before next thing. Book one focused on solid foundation of lower register and this moves to higher register. Highly recommended
