It just works.
Apart from the minor gripe others have mentioned about the fiddly initial job of getting the device secured properly to the MC30 socket on the camera, it's been great. Turns on and off with a short press and long press of the button, respectively, doesn't get dislodged or bust if you leave it on the camera while it's bouncing about in your camera bag, and it works very reliably.Range is maybe the only shortcoming. With line of sight you're good for quite a distance - 20, 30, 40 metres, perhaps, but with brick walls or car bodywork or staircases in the way, reckon more like 5m, max.

Beware
I’ve had one of these before and would leave it permanently on the camera and eventually the rubber antenna broke off in my bag. It’s also not an intervalometer just a remote shutter release so quite expensive for just that function but a lot more compact than cheaper brands and the intervalometer functions are built into my camera so are readily available. For long exposures it does lock off and I just use a watch for exposure times.

Fiddly but effective
Didn't hold many hopes up for this remote initially. Needed it for the D300 I was using in Norway as the camera has no infra red remote facility and couldn't use the little remotes on it.It took some time to get used to. The little radio part which goes in the front of the camera is VERY fiddly and can't be screwed in whilst wearing gloves (a must in Norway) so this job needed to be done before taking the camera out. Once its in, the indicator blinks red and you know its on.It fared well out in the cold of Norway. I did take a cable release just in case, but didn't need one. The only thing is, that it drains batteries quickly so pack plenty of spares and you'll need some time to get used to how it works as well as time to get used to screwing it in.

Works well, but feels a bit cheap
I really can't criticise the functionality, which ultimately is what counts here. I've only just attached to my camera (D800) and it seems to work very well. The remote is made of very cheap feeling plastic; it's a shame they couldn't have stretched to a bit of metal / rubberised material for this - it would have elevated the feeling of quality immensely. We’ll see how it fares on longevity – but on first impressions, it works – but feels ever so slightly like something that came out of a Christmas cracker…

Great little gadget.
Neat little gadget for remote shutter release. Fits the D300S socket and screws in securely. Easy to use..just like the camera's release. It is not a programmable intervalometer...you need one of the handsets on a wire for that function. Very quick delivery from the US to UK.Overall pleased so far, and recommend it.

Excellent remote I would highly recommend.
This little remote is excellent. I leave it on my Nikon D810 and use it all the time. The best remote I have owned. Great advantage is the receiver runs off the camera battery and is small but well made. Have recommended on several occasions to other fellow photographers.

Best remote control ever
I was looking for a good remote control for my Nikon D810. After 3 different purchases I have found the holy grail :-) Nothing to add- just buy one. Best remote ever.

This is a good product. Very neat way to enable complete wireless control over the camera shutter. Unlike the cheaper Nikon IR controller on my previous (entry level) Nikon it enables all of the shutter controls including start/stop of video if this has been selected in the camera menu, which the Nikon IR controller did not.The only slight problem is that I find it difficult to screw the receiver locking ring onto the socket of the camera, but this could be a generic feature of the socket or ham fistedness on my part. Either way, the receiver doesn't have to be screwed in to work, but there is obviously a chance of it falling off if not screwed in place.
