121C Boards Aileron Carbon Fiber Skate Cruiser Board - Standard Flex with Shark Wheels

I would definitely recommend the Aileron.I got this board after my bike got stolen, and I couldn't have made a better decision. First of all, some of the areas where I ride are pretty rough, and this board has withstood every crash with ease. It doesn't even have any scratches which is a bit disappointing because it looks like I never ride it.Although the name says longboard it is really more of a cruiser deck. That said, the Aileron is fairly thin compared to other cruising boards. The polished edges make the deck look better and prevent splinters. It also has a slight camber, which I really like for avoiding obstacles or sharp turns. My standard flex is comfortable, but you can choose stiff or flexible as well.I have a ton of fun and get lots of comments while riding it. I have probably met 15 people who stopped me just to ask about the board. If you're looking for a great all-purpose cruiser board, you can't do better than the Aileron.Since buying the Aileron, I got in touch with 121C. They are super friendly and helpful, and told me a bunch about the manufacturing process and carbon fiber composites. The owner actually started the company while in college to help reduce the waste produced by aerospace and rocket companies, and the board is made with no extra fillers or coatings. Again, definitely would buy again.

The board itself is awesome. Deffinitelly suggest it, only complaint is that it came in horrible shape as if it was used before, the bottom vinyl is all scrarched and peeling off and the sides aswell. The images on the wheels are faded so I doubt i recieved a brand new one. 2 stars only because of the way i recieved it, functionality spot on

UPDATE: After reading my review the company contacted me and provided me with a new board. Good service, but I wish I didn't have to post on amazon to get in touch with customer support.I'm updating my rating from two stars to three.I've been riding this board for a couple months back and forth to my classes. Today, I rolled off a standard sized curb, and the tail of the Board just snapped right in half. It's still hanging on, but the deck is ruined. I'm 6ft tall and 175lb, perfectly within the recommended weight for the board and I was riding it in a normal and predictable fashion. It seems unlikely that any high quality wooden deck would have broken in the same circumstance, so I have to give this board 2 stars for not living up to it's advertised durability.It was great while it lasted, but it's an expensive toy that seems even less durable than it's cheaper wood cousins.

A premium longboard. You'll get more value from buying the deck only.I've been cruising around on my college campus with a penny board for about a year, but because of its tiny size, it is very vulnerable to small rocks, tiny pine cones, little branches, etc. Despite the relatively large wheels (72mm) I have, it has constantly caught on to small obstacles and would brake abruptly. It was finally the time for me to find a reliable longboard that I can ride without giving much worry. I ordered this longboard a few weeks ago.Build Quality & Design (5/5)Nothing looks cheap on this skateboard. The deck is made of aerospace grade carbon fiber, which means it's literally bulletproof sturdy. Unlike the conventional decks that are made of wood, water damage is not an issue. Practically I'll never need to worry about breaking or damaging the board for a lifetime.The grip tape is nicely cut out and applied to the deck. At first, I felt uncomfortable to hold it because it was too rough but as I rode more, it has softened out enough for me to hold but still feel grippy underneath my feet. Unlike the rough upper side of the deck, the bottom side is finished with a glossy coating layer, which makes interesting textual contrast. That being said, the bottom getting scuffed is unavoidable.Riding experience (3/5)The curve of the deck is designed to keep the rider from falling off easily, which is pretty apparent based on its look. The deck has a very unique design, with no doubt, but I wasn't able to feel anything that differentiates this longboard from other conventional wooden longboards that go around $100-200.Parts (3/5)All the parts that come with this skateboard are all premium products. The main reason I went for the complete version instead of the deck-only version was because I wanted to try Sharkwheels, which handle the obstacles I mentioned previously fairly well. Nevertheless, I still recommend buying the deck only, because This company, 121cBoards, only designs and manufactures the decks while the other parts are supplied by US based companies. You can assemble your own board with other parts in equivalent quality for much lower price. (e.g. you can find this Aileron longboard with imported parts at Sharkwheel website for much lower price). Also I like cruising around fast, and Mac 5 Tech Bearings, which have thick oil, was not the best option for me.Overall (4/5)Without a doubt, it is an expensive longboard. If the money is not an issue, and if you are looking for a reliable longboard that, regardless of the weather conditions, you can ride with style and no worries, Aileron will meet your expectations.

Great quality longboard. I have been riding it around campus Non stop since I got it and always get compliments on it. My only complaint is that mine was not perfect from the factory, it had a couple of small scratches and dents. However they are only noticeable if you look very closely. The decals are also not the most durable and scratch easily. But overall it's a great product, the shark wheels make it even better.

I am loving this board! I was lucky enough to find 121C Boards after searching the web for a carbon fiber deck; I had been searching for a durable, functional, and unique longboard, and this turned out to be the perfect solution. It rides smoothly, is flexible, and is literally bullet proof. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality and one of a kind board that will last forever.
