To Kill a Mockingbird

having had the option of going through the classic in the traditional ant-print, voluminous book or a book with lots and lots of picture, i went with the only option, any like-minded individual would take. Go for the book with pictures. So pretttttttty !! So yes that is how i ended up with reading the graphic novel version of to kill a mockingjay As mentioned, i had never read the classic before and even after going through the graphic novel, i am not any far ahead. Yup ! you heard me. If you are like me and is going for the book just to read the classic with a cheat method then let me tell you it isn’t quite successful. Or would it be? well lets just say that it didn’t for me because i feel all i got from reading the novel was nothing more than a book blurb available at the back of the original book. My point is that while this book is amazing and the team behind this graphic novel are brilliant, this book is not meant to be a substitute for the original classic, if you haven’t read it already. This is supposed to be more of a companion novel. It will be an amazing addition to anybody who are fan of the cult classic. The print, illustration and the layout is amazing, to die for and almost like a collectors item. It is a beauty in art and each page is like glorious. I am in awe of the book. But to judge the book as a novel, then one has to understand (which i did too late) that the graphic novel is there to jog your memory or be a gift to the fans of this classic because what you get are the snippets of the story . well a detailed snippet but not the depth and the layers offered by the voluminous classic In short this graphic novel is a collectors item. I think everybody should have this in their collection if your are a true blue blood book lover. (is there a term like that ? anyways you get the point) But do not take this book as a substitute for the original classic because to understand and imbibe this cult, you need to read the original. For those who have already read and loved this classic, you need to get this copy today itself. its a work of art like literally but what a beauty man !! brilliant

A simple but a beautiful and realistic Story. It is a story unfolding in Alabama, trhough the eyes of a kid (girl); during a period , when African Americans are still treated like sub-human by most. Not a complicated human rights story, rather a plain and simple human rights story, about all prejudices. It is a balanced simple perspective. I have not read the original classic or seen the movie, still I felt the depth of the story. It is a book that I felt like a classic story, after a really long time ...kid's narration helps the reader to get the story in unbiased way i.e., The graphic novel has brought out all the characters well, I got a good feel of the characters of the story. I liked the pictures very much. Recently all graphic books rely on intense colouring and lots of highlighting/ rendering...feels like a loud or screaming pictures. But this was very pleasant and gives realistic hue to the pictures and brings out the beauty of country side and expressions. I thank the artist for selecting this scheme of colours and pictures... Overall it was a good experience.

We all know that this is a classic novel but this illustrated edition is taking it another level..! It's definitely a kind of treasure one should have in their Library. I re-ordered 3 more copies to gift them to my student's.Both Children & Adults can read it. I bought one copy for ₹585😜 (of Course I Waited for quite a time)

The book is definitely a collector's item. If you have read the novel first and have been a huge fan of it, this would just add a charm to your collection. The book doesn't claim to be the original novel and it surely isn't. But the graphics are good and it's overall worth it at this price point. The pages are in amazing condition. A good job by blossom book house. However, if you are an avid reader and only looking for rich language and immersive experience rather than pretty graphics, then I would suggest you to go for the original novel.

I loved it! It is graphic novel format, so if you need it like that like I do, defietly get this. I didn't get to read this book in high school. Thanks to this I was able to read it now. Would definitely recommend.
