Helpful for my grandson!
Reading this book that tells the story of a teacher in an elementary school classroom leading projects centered around being kind and helpful was such a delight. My nearly 5 year old grandson was most curious about what was going on and asked many questions. We were able to use the story to talk about being helpful and kind. Later in the week we referred back to the story for continued exploration of the subject. It's a delightful and helpful story!

Positive Appraoch
Nice teaching tool for kids to learn positive behaviors at home and at school. Mrs. Ruler encourages her students to show positive behaviors both in school and at home. Of course, one student stands back and refuses to participate but he too comes along after the class earns stars for their kind deeds.

Great story...KINDNESS is such a wonderful character trait for everyone!!!!!
I bought this book for my 7 year old granddaughter. She immediately started to do different acts of kindness; at home, at school and for me. She even reads the book to all her dolls. This is an amazing book for kids of all ages. Mrs. Ruler has a great idea when it comes to teaching her students about being kind. In these times when many children are harassed by bullies, it is important to foster acts of kindness in children.

Kindness is Cooler, Mrs. Ruler is fantastic!
My class and I used it to write about the many ways we can show kindness! we are keeping a log and share it weekly! We are also making seasonal shapes to display throughout the year! we will place all of our acts of kindness so that others will take the hint!I would recommend this to grades K-3! It is also helps to stimulate some very good writing! it can be integrated into all subject areas!

Great message for everyone, even better for troubled kids.
Bought this when I was an elementary librarian at a school with a high concentration of kids from troubled homes. Working on the basic traits of good character was a high priority, and this book did a good job of getting the kids excited about the right things. The class in the book tracks all their good deeds for a while, putting value on kindness. The kids at my school responded well to this book. A+

Teach your kids to be kind!
This book caught my attention because my friend, who has a child with Asberger's, was working on the concept of being kind with him. It features an offbeat teacher named Mrs. Ruler who always speaks in rhyme, and she teaches her elementary students different, specific ways to be kind. A lot of times I think we just tell kids that things are "kind" or "unkind" without really giving them ideas of how to be kind.

Kindness is Needed
In these times when many children are harrassed by bullies , it is important to foster acts of kindness in children. The children I read this book to were compelled by the story. I think the cartoon character illustrations helped to attract their attention, but many children were also interested in the idea of counting acts of kindness. One classroom I read to, persuaded their teacher to conduct the acts of kindness project in their classroom.
