Art of Paint Pouring: Tips, techniques, and step-by-step instructions for creating colorful poured art in acrylic (Fluid Art Series)

The Art of Paint Pouring is a softback book, just over A4 size, and with a laminated cover. It is lavishly illustrated with colour photographs of the author working with the paint and I am very happy to say it is not just another book produced as a vehicle to showcase the artist's talents. The book is filled with clear and reliable information. The opening chapter deals with the paints, the supports that can be used and how to actually get started. Ms VanEver continues by introducing and explaining various techniques used in this process. together with working examples. She also suggests colour combinations and deals briefly with colour theory. The various applications for poured paint work are interesting and accessible, with plenty of clear photographs that do excite the creative instinct. A close friend, who had almost dismissed this approach, was saying, 'Oh that looks worth a try!' and 'I wouldn't mind having a go at that!' so that speaks for itself. The book is beautifully laid out and has an easy-to-read font size, printed black on a white page. I hate those arty, oh-so-smart books with tiny grey print on a pale green page that I can hardly see, never mind read. No such obstacles here. The book is both physically and creatively a delight and I am very pleased to have it. Having ventured into pouring paint, whilst it isn't as easy as it might look, I believe that with this book you can produce something that will please you.

I just stared acrylic pouring and find this book perfect at this stage of my learning. Well explained with lots of images and details. I would recommended for beginners or if you want a variation on your pouring.

Good book

Arrived in time. This is an excellent book for beginners. Lots of information about mixing the paints and how to use other mediums. There are projects yo do yo get into the swing of paint pouring. Once covid has calmed down and we can travel again, I will he taking this book with to have fun doing some of the projects with my grandchildren.

Not a bad book it has some good tips for art pouring it certainly will assist beginners starting out

I have read the book but I have not used it yet. Gives a list of items needed and step by step guides to try out the different techniques of paint pouring which is helpful when just beginning this method of art. There is a good variety of ideas.

Probably the best paint pour book yet. Step by step instructions for all types of pours and colour photos to match. Really easy to follow for anyone from beginner to people who want to try something different with their art. All the colours used are documented so, if you want to, you can try out the colour combinations for yourself. Really worth buying....

Das Buch ist in echt gutem und leicht verständlichen Englisch geschrieben. Für Pouring Einsteiger ist das Buch bzw. die Einführung gut erklärt. Es ist verständlich was benötigt wird und wie die Farben zueinander spielen. Mir gefällt gut, dass auch andere Materialen als Alternative zur Leinwand benutzt werden. Wie Blumentöpfe, Lesezeichen und auch Ketten/Schmuck kann hergestellt werden und sieht dazu noch echt Hammer aus. Die Bilder werden bei mir zwar nicht immer exakt wie beschrieben aber ich denke das ist auch eher Übungssache. Ich habe dank des Buches großen Spaß am Pouring gefunden und empfehle es aufgrund der guten Einführung gerne weiter.

There was so much more to this type of art, and this is a great book for beginners, it explains the supplies you will need or may want for different effects, I probably should have read up on how to do this kind of art but I am happy that I didn't because with the guidance of this book it helps you understand the other products you will need and also as you progress there are other tips and tools you will want to learn to get the best results from your project, I purchased 2 other books as well and it so happens that they are kinda the next steps once you learn the basics, because of all the different creations and a vast amount of different surfaces that you can use it on. And the other books were more advanced than this one, like I said I got lucky because I just figured I would order a few books on the subject and how hard could it be, it's not so much hard but there is a lot more to it than you would think. It's pretty cool and there's something for everyone, kids and adults alike. Even beginners with no artistic background can do it if you just take your time and master one step after the other. I wish I have did some work so I could have shown you but I have a lot going on and I am reading the books so I can figure it out and start doing the kind of work I want to do. Too many projects right now. Can't wait to start though.
