Hagen Exo Terra Electronic Day/Night Thermostat (600 Watt)

Love this little controller, works great and accurate, holds temp +/- 0.3°. Was easy to set up definently recommend.

This is an upgrade for my snake enclosure. The temp has been consistent since adding. Not up and down.

In the dimming mode, it only has several levels (about 5) of "dimness". I set up a test with a light bulb in a box and set the temperature to 70 degree F. It manages to maintain the temperature between 70 and 71, but instead of keeping the light bulb at a constant brightness, the bulb would turn off for a while, then turn on to level 1 (brightness), then level 2, then level 3, then the device finds the temperature has overshot to 71 and turn off the bulb. The father the probe is from the bulb, the more it would overshoot. In my test, the probe is 1cm away from the bulb.I thought a proportional controller would keep the heater (bulb) at a more constant level. Instead, it is behaving more like an on/off controller.BTW, the LCD screen has very narrow viewing angle.

If you need a dimming thermostat, and on a budget this is the stat for u, literally my leopard gecko lies under her Deep heat projector cause she loves it so much and in perfect temp :)

I bought two of these, and got two different modelsOne is the PT2459, the one that is pictured, and it sucks. It uses a light diode to detect day/night cycles, which is garbage, and the way it indicates whether it's in pulsing/dimming mode is janky and requires digging in the instruction manual to figure out. Essentially the day/night cycle on this one is useless because even in a fully lighted room the thing was telling me it was night, so I had to set the temperature to a constant on both cycles.The other version is the PT2454, and it's great. It has a build in clock and you can set the time for your day/night cycles. It also has an LED display that reads what mode the item is in (pulsing/dimming) and it's setup is much more intuitive.

Really great product just was unable to use it do the width of the cord itself.

I bout one that works decent so I figured I'd buy another for the price cant really beat it... then when my second one came it barely worked dimmed the light out for no reason and wasn't reading temp right at all they send me another one witch is worse then the other one not happy right now

Easy to use and accurate. Want buy another brand.

After purchasing, I now have two, one for my Ball python named Cuddles’s heat pad in her hot hide and one for her radiant ambient heat in her Kage tank with Mist King for humidity she wants for nothing and I have complete faith and peace of mind!!

Das Gerät arbeitet zuverlässig und ist sehr leicht einzustellen.Das Exo Terra Thermostat 600w ist nicht zu vergleichen mit dem ThermoControl Pro, Trixie 76124 Thermostat digital oder TropicShop Temperatur Control Pro - Digitale.Mit diesen Geräten können zahlreiche Parameter eingestellt werden und sie besitzen alle eine Zeitschaltuhr um auch die Beleuchtung im Terrarium zu steuern.Das Thermostat 600w kann das nicht und arbeitet nur in Verbindung mit Heizelementen wie Wärmekabel, Heatpanel, Substratheizung. Eine Wärmelampe ist weniger geeignet geht aber notfalls auch.Dementsprechend gering sind die Einstellmöglichkeiten des Exo Terra.Der Lichtsensor funktioniert tadellos. Er erkennt in wenigen Sekunden ob es Tag oder Nacht ist im Terrarium und schaltet selbstständig in den Tag oder Nachtbetrieb und hält die eingestellten Tages oder Nachttemperaturen ein.Mir hat das Gerät gut gefallen und ich habe es mir noch einmal gekauft.

I am really impressed so far , ive been using this thermostat for week now and im really happy with it, my tortoise seems happy with it too , its plugged into the tortoise basking bulb NOW it doesn't state it works with this but it does the day function fine , the night function doesn't come on during the night as my basking lamp has a switch to turn it off , and I have to turn all the lights off to activate night mode …. that's in no way a bad point of this review though as it doesn't state its compatible , being relatively new to reptiles I just wanted some extr5a reassurance during the night so if I pop down I can quickly see the nice LED screen saying 18ish degrees im happy and can go back to bed. would highly recommend , easy to use , easy to view , very accurate , brill product
