It works good

The only reason for giving 4 stars is because the capsules are made out of a beef products. I didn’t notice this ingredient until I had a reaction of hands swelling (inflammation symptoms) from the buffered C. I am sensitive to beef products and it is my fault for not reading the label more closely. The buffered C is fine and works well when transferred to a vegan capsule. Just read the label for any allergies before buying.

So glad that I found this brand of buffered vitamin C (calcium ascorbate.) Due to a medical condition I cannot ingest anything acidic or that is not low-oxalate, and I used to take Ester-C until about two years ago when they began adding "Citrus bioflavinoids" to their entire Ester-C line. However, this product from Carlson does not have that, and in fact says right on the bottle "Citrus Free". Thank you, Carlson! If I have one tiny quibble it's that I wish they made this in a lower mg version, perhaps 200 or 250 but apparently nobody makes that strength in a buffered C. The RDA for vitamin C is less than 100 mg/day and so 500 is rather an elephant gun, so to speak, for someone who is taking it only because they cannot eat C-rich foods. So I only take one every 2 or 3 days instead of daily, and that seems to be working okay so far.

Regular Vitamin C gives me constant heartburn. This product does not. Good stuff!!

i wish these were gel.they would be easier to swallow.
