11 year old fascinated by comprehensive Wrestlemania coverage
For WWE fans these DVD comprehensive coverage boxes are the best as christmas or birthday presents. A way to really cheer up an 11 year old son who had made a deal with me to get this one for his birthday and then Wrestlemania 35(this current years one) when it comes out.

The Ultimate Thrill Ride with a few things to note though
I own all the Wrestlemania's on DVD or Blu-Ray, although I don’t really follow the current shows on a regular basis. This was a must buy for the collection. I ordered the steel-book version and watched the 2 Blu-Rays over the course of almost two weeks. The quality is excellent, as you might expect. When I opened the box, I noticed there was no booklet. However, there was place for a booklet. Nowhere, there is a list of the matches or of the content of the 2 disks. Here are my thoughts on the show and on the package:This package contains the preshow. I read this is not the case in the US version. Actually, this should be mandatory on every version. The Hall of Fame is on the second disk and is always a pleasure to watch. The intro with the roller coaster promo is well done. I bet this took some time until it was finished. The ramp and the stage are some of the best in history, unless you want to keep it as simple as possible. During the entrances, the theme of the wrestler was projected or shown on the whole length of the ramp. During Randy Orton’s entrance for example, a projected snake slid along with him to the ring. Impressive. The matches were not that spectacular. In fact there was no match on the card that would win a Match of the Year award. The things I recall and are worth noting from the matches:Shane McMahon's actions and the fact that he can deliver. He sure trained a lot before his match.Bayley came in first. I wondered why since she was the champion. Charlotte got all the glory and came out last although she was not champion. The match itself was ok.The Hardy Boys are back. That was a feel-good moment. Jeff was jumping from a high ladder again. Incredible. But the ladder match from WM 17 cannot (or never) be topped. The match between Cena and Miz was actually quite entertaining, also thanks to Jim Ross and the reaction of the fans (or WWE universe) for the Miz.Seth vs Triple H was too long.Brock vs Goldberg was very short. Can’t believe how short it was.And the main event? Yes, it was worthy of a main event. Thank you, Taker! But now it’s over. Some more thoughts on this event and disk package:Why are 2 of the 3 pre-show matches on Disk 1 and the third match from the pre-show as well as the main event are on Disk 2? Wouldn’t it have been better to put the whole show on Disk 1 and put the pre-show on Disk 2 (or any excess on Disk 1 if the pre-show and the Hall of Fame would not fit on Disk 2)?Honestly, the commentators, to put it very diplomatically, did not have their best day. All throughout the show. They are a very far cry from any Jim Ross, Bobby Heenan, Gorilla Monsoon, Jesse Ventura or any color commentator from the past. Even Vince Mc Mahon was way better. I do not want to name anyone, but the commentary was dull, without much emotion. Maybe the newer ones are all afraid to say something wrong or they cannot do any better. You can see the difference in the two matches when Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler called the action. Totally different. The preshow is great. They should have put either the cruiserweight match and/or the IC on the actual show and cut down some of the other matches.I had the impression sometimes that this event is more about entrances and not about wrestling.I watched the Hall of Fame and every time the camera is on Roman Reigns, the people were booing their hearts out. Now, in the show itself, the boos cannot be heard that intensively. Is it because there were no boos or have they been tuned down? If the latter is the case, this would be a shame. WWE should let the people’s reactions on DVDs as they were happening instead of editing things to their liking. So, the conclusion: I give this show a 6/10. Definitely not more. It has got its moments of course. 4 stars for the Blu-Ray and the whole package.
