RYA Competent Crew

Great book to start off with. My husband purchased this book in preparation for a sailing course (which he's currently on, off the coast of Spain). Straight forward and to the point and includes information to get you started. This book was recommended by the company running his course.

I bought this book for my son as he's to crew a friend's yacht to its new marina in the spring. Said friend is an experienced skipper and had a good look as well: opinion is that if you know all the information in this little book then you will indeed be a very competent crew member - provided that you're able to put it into practice of course.Highly recommended.

This book is great. The layout is easy to navigate, all the basic important information is there and it was perfect for using prior to going on an RYA course. All the parts of the boat are labelled, all the jargon is there. Important knots are explained. I couldn't have managed my Competent Crew Certificate. I would recommend it to any beginner

This is very well laid out and so easy to assimilate, it's just a bit simple. If you're a total beginner it's a good buy but if you have some idea it's really only a refresher.

I bought this for my partner as she's doing competent crew this year. Very easy to read and copiously illustrated.
