Easy to use, well worth the money
I bought this to do a number of measurement and monitoring tasks, anything from diagnosing the refrigerator cooling to measuring hvac performance. I even have some uses that will require very hot measurements (300-500F). This unit seemed a bargain at the price, so I wasn't expecting much. Let's say it exceeds my expectations. I've already used it to fix the fridge.I use a combination of the sensors provided and some 3rd party high-temp sensors also purchased from Amazon. Readings between sensors and channels looks to be +/- 2F to each other at room temperature. Good enough for my needs. Nice unit!

Nice unit has a bright backlight
Nice unit has a bright backlight. The thermostats that came with the unit weren't very accurate. I purchase the ones that were recommended, and they All read the same.

Great K-type TC Thermometer
Great device. I needed to take temperature of metal and ceramics in the 700-800 F range. This thermometer worked perfectly and I am very satisfied with the product. Its extremely easy to use, uses the common thermocouple (TC) connector so there are a wide array of TCs that you can use...both the ones supplied with it and 3rd party TCs.The owner's manual was clear and easy to follow.I heartily recommend this device Leaton 4-Channel K-Type Digital Thermometer Thermocouple Sensor -200~1372°C/2501°F ( Batteries included )

Works ok, but won't stay on
I was using mine to keep track of temperatures at multiple spots (using multiple thermocouples), and it seemed to work well at first, but then the display kept shutting off every 10 or 15 minutes, and I would have to walk over and turn it back on. Even though multiple probes were plugged in and the temperature was changing, it just kept turning off.I didn't see anything in the directions about it or when I Googled it. And nobody answered the question I posted. Ultimately, this made it rather useless to me, and so I ended up having to return it.

Sturdy and well-build four channel thermometer.
Purchased this to get a final read on the temperature in my oven. I had some questions on whether the oven was calibrated correctly, and the small in-oven thermometers did not answer the question. With this four-channel device I was able to measure the temperature at four locations at once and understand the differences between locations and the logic of the oven heating itself. The thermometer is surprisingly well-build - I'm a scientist and have used similar 'professional' instruments, and the only difference I see is the fact the the instruments I used in the lab came with a certificate of calibration, but I was not looking for that kind of accuracy here. (A short primer on the physics behind this: The K-type probes are made by bringing two different metals together in the junction at the tip of the wire. Because of this, the wire will generate a different voltage depending on the temperature. The output from probes is very consistent, the only variable in the readout of the system is the meter that is measuring the voltage and converting that reading into temperature scale - this is adjusted during calibration). This is one of those rare occasions that I actually recommend a product.

It had one job. Inconsistent. Not trustworthy.
Wow, at least 12 degrees Fahrenheit above the actual. Yikes.Update: So we can't figure out what this is measuring. Sometimes it seems to be about 12 degrees Fahrenheit above what other tools show. Other times, it seems to be more than 60 degrees Fahrenheit high. Different probes and different ports show different values on the same item being measured. Asking the seller for help doesn't go well. I'm sure they're trying to help, but they're incoherent. This inexpensive purchase has now long past the point of costing more to make work than we paid for it.

Just the thing if you need multi positional accuracy
I got tired of never really knowing what temperature my oven was and why it seemed to vary so much in the way it cooks. I have multiple analog oven thermometers, but they are either not accurate at all or lose accuracy over a period of time, to the point where I simply could not trust my oven for anything that requires any finesse at all, like baking. So, I bought this multiprobe thermocouple thermometer and placed all four probes in different parts of the oven and watched the temperatures during the whole preheat and normal cycles.I am glad I did, because that is how I discovered my oven swings wildly in temperature, especially when coming up to preheat, sometimes as much as 50 degrees. I used this information first to calibrate my oven with reality, because it was off around 30 degrees. Now that I know the behavior, I can take it into account when doing something where temperature is critical, like cheesecake.

Significant offset and gain error on all four channels. Ice water reads 7.8C, Verified error independently.
Error on all 4 channels: Ice water reads around 7.8C. Independently verified ice water by two different methods; thermistor and IR probe to be 0.1C. All probes, all channels/combinations behave the same way. I even tried my own type K thermocouple. I tried flipping between units; C/F/K and got equivalent results with unit conversion. Polarity verified on all four probes. Tried my own new 9V battery. If this worked as advertised it would be a nice unit for $30ish. Came with four decent quality probes and 9V battery. Battery door requires #0 phillips screw driver for single non-captive screw. Looks like everyone else had better luck. The brand I received was "XINTEST" I don't see "Leaton" anywhere on the box, unit or instructions and am not sure that that matters. No need for a 1 star rating, I think this was a fluke (no pun intended).
