Don't hesitate like I did! Awesome product!
I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. That being said, I almost never leave a review unless I'm unhappy and want to forewarn others. I needed a knife to cut through a large cake made out of soap, and I wanted the Victorinox version that costs upwards of $100. It really bothers me to throw away $20 on trash when I will have to replace it with the better version later. I was, however, blown away at how this knife performed! It isn't a light weight piece of junk either. I'm really glad I didn't spend the extra money for one with rose wood handles, because I can buy five of these for the price of the one I had my heart set on. This knife sliced right through the hard cake of soap like it was butter, no joke! Because I had not cut the soap when it was 24 hours old, I thought it would be too hard. In fact, I left it way too long - 72 hours, so it should have just been like a rock... so I DID coat the knife lightly with some cooking spray. Wow is all I can say! Would I prefer wooden handles? Yes, but not for an extra C-note!

This is a Sharp and Study Knife
This is sharp and very sturdy and will cut through a 6" thick block of thick soap. Take care to handle it safely. I wish it came with a blade guard but otherwise I find it to be a very useful and quality knife.

The BEAST
Lol... This thing is a beast. I wanted it because I make different types of hard candy for Christmas. A double handled knife works great for when it’s time to cut it. A 12” my work a little better but it has to be heavy duty. For that aspect it worked perfectly, and now I can use it to cut my home made pizzas!

Nice knife, no blade guard
This knife came in a loose amazon box wrapped in plastic wrap with no box for the knife and no blade guard. Unfortunately the amazon box wasn't a good option for storage as it was very large, dirty and flimsy. I was a big surprised about the packaging, the knife is very sharp and sturdy. I have a hard time finding a safe storage for it given its size the knife doesn't fit in kitchen cabinets and that it has no cover for the blade which is unsafe for me as well as children or another family member to be laying around. Tried placing it back in the plastic wrap, but it rips every time the knife goes in or out as it is very sharp. Unless I can purchase a blade guard to it will have to return.

This is a BIG knife
When considering purchase, bear in mind that this is a big knife. I purchased to cut wheels of homemade cheese and it certainly does the job. Razor sharp but I've yet to determine how long it holds and edge. It comes with a cardboard scabbard which should last for a while with a little care. It would be easy enough to make a replacement when the time comes. I could certainly "subdivide" cheese wheels with a chef's knife or wire cutter, but what can I say? I'm a gadget guy. You can find similar knives made by the "big boys" but they are generally 4 times more expensive. This should fine given the limited use and I would definitely buy again.

Sturdy
Sturdy and cuts through my blocks of soap so much easier. Use your body weight evenly in a smooth downward motion, let your body create the momentum and not your arms. Saves me less pain to do it that way with my arthritis. I had no bowing of the blade at all. The handles feel secure. I will update my review soon as I have 100 lbs of soap to cut to see the over all performance and washing to see if any rusting occurs. An excellent purchase and use so far.
