Easy trap, perfect for beginners
If you are looking to get into skeet shooting, without the $250 price tag of a competitive trap, you are in the right place. Trap comes in a small box with full assembly required. Basic tools for assembly. Trap is sturdy and built to last. Throwing arm has a small padded strip to prevent brakage when throwing. Spring can be tightened or loosed depending on your shooting level. Can throw 2 birds at once without any problem. This setup can be mounted to a tire with included hardware or can be pushed into the ground, however seems to pull out after every throw(just put your foot on the back stake when throwing and it will be fine). Trigger releases nicely without much effort, but the string that is attached wears out pretty quickly. End of the trigger string has a guage to keep the throwing arm width correct. Cocking the throwing arm can be tiring after a day of throwing, but it throws nicely. On average, no wind it will throw 100 ft without a problem. Amazon price is competitive, usually a buck or two less than the major retail stores. If you are new to the sport or are just looking for an inexpensive thrower, you are in the right place. This one will do what you need and will hold up well.

Unbeatable for 25 bucks!
Most of these throwers are basically the same, if you put it together right and set it up right they work fine, if you don't, you are in for a bad time. It took about 5 minutes to assemble properly (yup, even with directions and pictures I managed to put one of the parts on backwards and used the wrong bolt inside the spring). The main thing I can say is the unit needs to be stable to do its best work. I was using it alone with my foot on the back for stability which didn't work well at first, the unit jumped every time I pulled the cord and how much it moved dictated how bad the clay flight was. Then I moved over so that the front legs were hooked on a concrete parking barrier and I was standing with my foot on the back leg. Not only did it start working flawlessly. In fact, with every throw the legs dug themselves a little deeper into the gravel parking lot that I had been unable to stomp them down into at all making the unit more accurate and more consistent. After the first few awkward pulls of the cord with my hand I started standing on a fairly taught cord with my right foot and using my left foot that i had on the back of the thrower for stability to step on the string between the eyelet and trigger to release the clay. After a few minutes of that, I decided the foot 'pull' was the way to go so (as you can see in the pictures) i wrapped the string around the angle iron and now it works like a pedal. It threw consistent singles and doubles all day. The only clay it broke was one that slid out the back when I put my foot on the thrower before the legs properly set into the gound (I was using the highest angle)

Adequate
Decent finger for the price. Assembly was pretty straight forward. It is pictured with two clays loaded. I don't recommend that. It throws one well, but the second one is pretty lame.

For thr money, very much worth it
Bought this for a cabin weekend with the boys. This thing provided hours of fun! We had shooting competitions and several guys learned to shoot with this for targets. Loading two at a time doesn't really work, but if you're at that level you're using a more heavy duty one anyway.

An amazing product!!!!
It took about 10 to 15 clays to get this thing dialed in (spring tension, throwing arm retention, and throwing arm angle). Had issues with them breaking but discovered it was due to the trap not being secured well enough (staked it in the ground then stood on the left and center leg, you could also put a weight on the legs or even bigger stakes to hold it securely Don't listen to all the bad reviews there are no issues other than the quality of written directions and how flimsy the pull string is. Thankfully there's plenty of pictures to look at which made assembly easy and fairly quick (5 min or less) and putting on a better string is easy enough. We have put over 300 clays through this since I bought it throwing at least 50 of those as doubles. It throws doubles easy enough once you get the hang of loading them in the correct spots. All in all its a very great loader for the 40 bucks. I've bought 3 more 2 as gifts and another so we can set up more than 1 thrower in the future.

Might be ok. I didn't ever put it together seemed more trouble than it was worth.
I never really put this together. I didn't get what I expected. I didn't realize how much there was to get what they sent to work and then I bought the wrong size disc's too. It just didn't seem worth it.

Again it arrived in time and did everything it said it would.

For the price, it does exactly what it should. When launching 2 at a time, it is a little less reliable. The 2 clays go completely different trajectories, but still launch well enough you can hit both if you are quick enough.

Great for beginners, works perfectly with 1 clay 2 fly not so great but great value for price

It throws clay so I don't have to. Do you know how fast you have to be to throw then pick up your weapon and still have time to hit it ?? I walked up and shot them on the ground later. Don't call me a poor sport.

In terms of functionality and build quality, I can confidently say that it is definitely solid with the exception of making sure every screw is as tight as possible. As fart as launching the clay targets goes, for every 5 targets launched, 2 shatter. I have tried to seat the clay targets in various locations in the launcher however the results remain the same. For a cost effective launcher, I would say its worth the money however, there are better alternatives for a slightly higher price tag. When mounting in the dirt, I recommend stepping on the rear as well as the left side because the launcher's recoil does lift it out of the ground. I can confidently say that this will function better and deliver more consistency than using the manual hand launcher
