Norpro Egg Slicer, Wedger, Pierce with Garnish Tool

This is an excellent tool! Its build quality and materials, and its finish and appearance are first rate.All functions work as designed, and with ease. It is easy to clean.I highly recommend it.I have a very fussy dog, a female Yorkshire Terrier. I adopted her a year ago, she was age 7. She won't eat commercial dog food, so I get to make her food. I include "hard cooked" eggs, which I buy at the market already cooked (Eggland's Best).This "Norpro Egg Slicer" makes cutting eggs for inclusion in "Rosie's" food easy. I save a lot of time, this was a good purchase.It cuts in 2 patterns: slices and "star."It has an egg piercing function with a tiny metal point, that has a little cover that locks in a safe condition.There is also a tiny "V" shaped "cutter;" place a cooked egg on end in the "star" shaped cutter, and use the V cutter to make a decorative egg.

This thing is awesome for preparing eggs. It's pretty much exclusive to eggs, but it does everything and really efficiently. It has a little metal spike on a spring for breaking through the shell to help peel hardboiled eggs (or if you're into easter egg dying and blowing out the yolk, this'll work for that too. I still have no idea how people do that).Just don't do what I did, and go "ooh, what's this do? ... Ow."There isn't much in the way of directions for using it, so you'll kinda have to figure it out as you go, but one mangled egg is a small price to pay for convenience and easy-to-clean kitchen gadgetry.

Does a nice, clean job of slicing hard boiled eggs. The built in egg shell piercer is of great value. Very easy to use (hidden when not in use - no accidental finger pricks) no more cracked shells when soft or hard boiling eggs. Easy clean up.

Pros: I just recently started making a lot of egg salad and decided to purchase this device. Let me be completely clear, it's great for slicing or cutting your eggs into 6ths.Cons: The egg piercer. As a new egg eater I had no idea what it was. The safety on the piercer is cheap and can turn to the off position easily. The piercer also looks like a button. And if you're a rookie like me you can push the button and get 1.5 cm of steel point in your thumb.Overall: I'd still get this egg slicer again.The egg piercer isn't a deal breaker. I don't even know why I need one, but I'm sure its functional. Just make sure everyone knows it's not a button. It could definitely be a thumb piercer instead of an egg piercer.

I had an egg slicer a long time ago but my kids were playing with it and bent the wires. So, I was searching on Amazon and found this one. I've never seen the nifty egg cutter thing or the extra way to cut an egg (the thing on the left) so I thought I'd buy it and check it out. I opened it up and it had zero instructions. So, I was twisting the little knob at the bottom-front back and forth from X to O and not sure what it did. I pressed the button... WHAM-O!!! I'm bleeding and in pain. That little thing pokes a needle-nail tip-type thing out! It makes sens now what the X (locked) and O (unlocked) is now! The whole thing is to poke a hole in an egg to hollow it out! Needed an band-aid for my stupidity!Whole thing works great-so I give it 5 starts but upset there were no instructions and I didn't know what the egg-hole-poker thing was. Stabbing myself in the finger was NOT the way to find out.

I have a single egg piercer which is just about ready to die, have another that is with a regular egg slicer, and now this one. I really like this one because it is very sturdy, has 2 diff cutting choices and the piercer. I think I'll give the slicer/piercer to a neighbor who could use it, throw away the old single piercer, and just keep and use this one.

I purchased this primarily as an egg piercer and as such, it does a perfect job, I haven't had an egg crack when boiling since I started using it. However, the fun part of the tool is the fancy cutter side. It works and makes very attractive hard boiled egg halves to dress up a salad or to make even fancier deviled eggs. I haven't used the slicer yet, but I'm sure that it works just fine. I try to keep my kitchen gadgets to a minimum, but this is one that I will continue to use.

I bought this a while ago. I’ve found it’s very awkward trying to slice eggs and keep the wedger wires from flipping around.I wouldn’t waste my time or money on this if I’d known.
