This is an economical set of motors for STEM activities
I am looking to use this for some STEM activities for 4th and 6th graders at an inner-city school. The components seem well made. I do find it takes a bit of muscle to insert and turn the motor into the motor mount. I have some concern that the RPM's of the motor may be too great for a gear of pulley driven car model and have not found much that would give a good drive reduction. I have seen some EUDAX 16.8mm pulleys, but not individual sets of smaller pulley's (e.g. 6mm) .

My students loved it.
I teach second grade and I wanted something fun for kids to do on the last day of school. Our last day was on a Monday so several parents weren’t sending their kids to school. I feel like this would be something challenging to do with a whole class, but at that time I only had about seven kids. The kids used to use to make robots out of different types of cups and markers. The markers were fixed to the cups and when turning on the motor, the cups vibrated around on a piece of paper and drew different designs to show their path. It was a big hit, and the kids loved it.

Simple and safe
I ordered these to make 'explorer' bots (essentially brush bots, but using a cup as the based instead of a brush). Over the course of a single evening, my wife and I put together 72 of the bots using a little solder and hot glue for each one. Of those 72, only one had a problem that couldn't be fixed in under a minute - after being used by a full vacation bible school worth of kids. The one that wouldn't work is because the glue held it together after the solder joint had broken, so it needs to be resoldered. I would definitely purchase more of these for a project like this. Very simple to set-up, the joy sparked in the kids was phenomenal, and they stand up to kindergarten through fifth grade kids very well.

Good switches, weak motors
Motors are super weak. Switches are good.

Excellent for STEM projects
I used these as a part of a kit for a wind turbine class for kindergartners. It worked great and was hassle free to attach the fans to the mini motor. The kids had fun.

Great for maker projects
I purchased this kit for a maker project for 4th and 5th graders- we made little cardboard cars and used the motors to turn propellers to make the cars go. The kit was a good price and had most of the components I needed (I just added some plastic wheels, dowel axels, batteries and cardboard/recyclables for the students to create the body of the car). I recommend this kit!
