I purcahsed this after seeing a video from James Hoffman about coffee extraction. He used this 2 1/4 inch punch to make filters for a 58mm portafilter. I use Chemex Square paper (FS-100) then I punch out 16 filters. I have to put my plam on the 2 1/4 inch silver disk, rather than at the end of the punch, as you need a bit of force to cut through 4 pages of filter paper, its not too bad, but you do need to push with a bit of gusto, nothing crazy. You can turn the punch over to see how the filter paper is positioned before you punch, but if you push it right to the end, then it works fine. Works really well, fit is almost perfect for a 58mm basket. Thanks to JH!
