Blanket Round Solar Cover Round: 15'

I was contemplating if I should get the original Intex 15' solar cover or save $7 and go with Blue Heaven. I'm sure a lot of you who came to this amazon product page are in the same boat trying to decide, so hopefully you will find my review useful.I had Intex 12' solar cover before for our smaller pool and ended up with 2 replacements in 3 years (only 2.5 months of use during the summer). Intex quality wasn't the best, under the heat plastic has melted in a few spots, and it was ripping around the holes (Intex has intentionally punched holes in their cover for a water drain). Another problem, Intex makes their solar covers a bit smaller in diameter so you get a gap between the pool wall and the cover - absolutely hate it cause all the leaves, bugs, and other debris used to get into the pool.That was a reason why I decided to try something new, and ordered Blue Heaven's Blue Wave solar cover for our 15' pool (Intex 15' x 48", upgrade from our previous 12' x 36"). First of all, product is backed by 3 year warranty!!!!!!! They do state explicitly that coverage is pro-rated since with every year you get an expected wear'n'tear. That's fine, but the fact that it's backed up by 3 year warranty means that manufacturer has confidence in their product. And indeed, the material is very high quality. Don't expect to see drain holes, and even after a few rains - I don't miss that "feature" at all. Seems to be OK without it, and keeps cover more durable and less prone to tears. Another BIG advantage, the size is a little bigger so when you cover your pool - fold the edges up to lean against pool wall, creating a nice seal to keep all the debris away. Without holes and with that seal, our pool has been spotless (of course, gotta run a filter daily, but still).So if you are deciding between Intex or Blue Heaven solar pool cover, don't hesitate! Save $7 and get a better product with a more durable build and backed by a better warranty.

Definitely will make any pool warmer and more useable BUT be prepared.....solar covers will only last two seasons before they begin to rot and fall apart. So...daily use for 3 months then stored properly the remainder. Do the math to decide if it is worth it

This cover is amazing! This is our 4th year with our pool. In prior years it was always too cold to use it, even with one of those black solar heaters that lays on the ground. My daughters would only use it 2 or 3 times each summer. I seriously debated if I should bother putting it up this this year. I am so glad I did. I put this solar blanket on the pool late in the afternoon on the day it arrived. By the evening of the 2nd day the pool water was HOT! We have used the pool many times since receiving the blanket. And I expect we will use it many more times in the few weeks. I have never used the pool until this year. Now I am the first one in. I find the warm water very soothing. With this blanket maybe we can even use it during the first half of September. Our pool season here is usually only July and August ( I am near Portland Oregon). Next year I am going to put the pool up around the end of May. I expect we will use it in June next year too.I have seen some of the reviews that people complain it is hard to take off and put back on. I have had no problems taking it off and putting it back on by myself, even in the wind. It is MUCH easier that the original pool cover that came with the pool.I will never use a regular pool cover again. So far this blanket is holding up very well. I suspect I will get at least a couple of seasons out of it. Even if it only lasted one season it would be worth every penny to replace it once a year.

I have been scared off from buying a solar blanket like this because across all brands because there are so many poor reviews about how they fall apart. But this has been the single best purchase for our above ground pool by far! There is an enormous difference in the temperature when I leave the blanket on, and when I just leave the pool open. Recently the weather has been in the low 90s, and by leaving the blanket on, I will see the temperature on the thermometer go up from 79 to 86° between 8 AM and 3 PM. It really makes a drastic difference!! The top few inches of water actually get hot, and then when you put your hand down below you can feel where the cooler water starts. Once it all gets mixed in together, it raises the temperature of the whole pool a few degrees.We never run the pump and filter with the blanket on, just because I had read reviews that said not to do that.We got the 15 foot blanket for our 15 foot pool. In the product information it tells you that it comes larger, and you just need to trim it to size. We haven’t trimmed it yet, just because we’ve been too lazy. So with the 5 or 6 inch overhang we just hang it over the side, and it’s been fine.The only con is that it’s pretty big and unwieldy, and kind-of a hassle to get on and off. To remove it, I start rolling from one edge and make a big long rolled tube, then pull it off the pool. I would like to figure out a way to have a long pole that rolls it up with a crank or something- maybe next season!

Bought it as my 12' one didn't touch all sides of my 12' pool. Bought this to cut to fit. Good quality. Works great. Note: these do not raise the pool temperature much but they do keep evaporation to a minimum, keep out debris/bugs pretty well, and keep your chlorine from evaporating. What heat you do have in your pool, these are great to help keep it in.

Second season of use and the plastic bubbles are coming off. Blue plastic bits everywhere.

Just purchased this and received it today July 9, 2021, says 15 foot in description, and even says 15 foot round on the cover, the material is heavy duty and great quality however the sizing is incorrect. Upon unfolding and laying it on my above ground 15 foot round pool its actually closer to 20 foot in diameter. Still a great purchase though , would have loved if they actually placed pockets or holes to allow water to drain out from the top.

Used under two seasons and it's falling apart. It does the job of heating the pool however, I only got one full season out of it before it started to fall apart. Emailed the supplier and got no response. I'd have taken a partial refund had they replied but since they couldn't be bothered then I've written this review. I would not buy again from this supplier.
