Staub Cast Iron Roaster/Cocotte, Oval 17 cm, 1 L, Black

Fabulous product that oozes quality; the Stella Artois of enamelled cast-iron mini cocottes... reassuringly expensive. My only criticism about it is that it maybe a little bit overpriced, but it will last me a lifetime. A 500ml Cocotte bought from another manufacturer had to be sent back as being way too small...

Solid cast iron pot, good sized for a family. It is very versatile so can be used on the stove and in the oven. We’ve only had it for a couple of weeks but use it far more than we had anticipated. It seems non stick, so is easily washed clean.It is expensive but should last a very long time. I recommend it.Note, we like the weight of it, but it is heavy even when empty, so buyers should take that into account if they have weaker wrists or otherwise struggle to lift heavy items.

Casserole Heaven and it's not le creusetIt's a beautiful pot, easily fits a lamb leg joint 2kg , and will selfbast itself. Has a black nonsticktype interior which is easy to clean , unlike the le creuset cream enamel . It also looks good on the table. Just fits my oven at an angle , it's about 42cm across handles.Got it for a bargain price of under£80 on warehouse deals..

Totally love this casserole pot. I love 1 pot meals. Easy clean. Stays hot. Lovely colour. Prefer the interior of Staub to Le Creuset. I cooked roast chicken so far and soup, and it was superb. Getting a round one next.

No lightweight this chunk of well finished cast iron. But well worth the money for a product that gives you lifetime service and such startlingly good results. Being a lover of slow cooking and pot roasts I am looking forward to a winters full of comfort food from this new item in my kitchen

This thing is a beauty. It is a beautifully glazed translucent grey. Very Good heat distribution. Keeps moisture in , lid fits and does not let steam and smells escape. I only bought it as it had been discounted otherwise don't need this size.It is HUGE, so probably best used in a large oven or large , ideally oval hob . It is black inside and looks like non stick coating but its specially treated cast iron. I keep expecting to see rust. Could probably be used in a commercial kitchen.One star off as the metal knob on the lid conducts heat and gets very hot (even at lowest heat) and you need a cloth/ mitts to touch it. Le creuset knobs do not get hot as not made of metal.

This is probably the best kitchen item I have ever bought. We use it almost every other day. Very easy to cut veggies and meat, throw in some spice and chicken stock, and voila! The ingredients taste so much better compared to Le Creuset (we have two Le Creuset). It can be used to steam and braise. The possibilities are endless, and my wife even bought a cook book specialising in dishes you can make with Staub!

Fantastic for cooking joints, chicken, stews, curries, chillies and any cookery that can benefit from long, slow, even cooking with excellent moisture management. Moroccan tagine dishes come out perfectly. Chickens are perfectly cooked and moist.

I currently own the 17cm and 15cm oval and the 16cm and 12cm round Staub dutch ovens. It is my understanding to cook different parts of a meal in the oven for longer and shorter time periods to achieve the best outcome for each part of the meal. The different sizes also allow for the ability to match the small oven to the needed task. The Staub 17cm dutch oven is a wonderful addition to my kitchen. I would highly recommend buying Staub dutch ovens for both quality and versatility in the kitchen.

This blue has to be the most beautiful color ever. I have many pieces and colors of Staub and LC, this color is my favorite hands down. Absolutely stunning 😍

The lid does not fit tight, so it does not baste as advertised and it is also smaller than advertised.I cannot recommend this item.
