Excellent Replacement
I am the original owner of a 2001 Expedition with 175,000 miles on it. I have performed 98% of all work done to this car. I replaced the manifold because of a coolant leak onto the engine from the passenger side coolant crossover section. Once it was off and upside down I could see a bulge in the plastic between the crossover and manifold. It leaked into cylinder 1 coil/sparkplug hole and shorted it out and into cylinder #1 intake valve. The sparkplug from that cylinder was burnt a brown color. I assume that was from the antifreeze leaking into and burning in that cylinder. I pulled codes for cylinder 1 misfire and both banks running lean. I installed the manifold in 13 hours total over 3 evenings after work. 4 of those hours were disassembling the throttle body and submerging it in lacquer thinner to clean all of the carbon from the ports and reassembling it. 2 hours were cleaning the fuel rail and injectors of residue. I wanted it as good as I could get it. You can do the job in 7 hours if you just want to get done. The manifold itself is nice quality. The coils, fuel rail and some other brackets use self tapping bolts that tap into the plastic manifold. The original uses brass sleeves to hold the bolts. They feel very solid so I don't think this will be a problem. That is the only negative I could find. The gaskets are included and permanently attached saving money and making it considerably easier to install. It comes with a new thermostat and seal. It comes with a new coolant crossover installed. Normally all of these things are bought individually. I have had it on for about a hundred miles. It seems to have more power than new. The lower plenum is smaller then the original and does not have a divider in the middle. I am guessing this allows for more direct airflow. It also appears the cylinder ports are arched at a better curve for airflow. I know it was 12 years and 175,00 miles ago but I think it runs better than new. I am extremely satisfied with the results. The price can't be beat. I rely heavily on this car for long distance trips. So far this is a fantastic improvement and purchase. If anything changes I will post it here.1/10/2014 It has now been 600 miles since install. I could not be happier so far. I had codes for cyl. 1 misfire and left bank running lean and right bank running lean. It cured all of them. I did replace the spark plugs and cyl. 1 coil because it had antifreeze shorting it out.04/26/2014 6000 miles now and no problems

Got the job done
Worked good on my 2001 Ford f 250 5.4L only thing I could complain about is the self tapping screws instead of the OEM style

Worth the extra money
I shopped around and found an intake manifold for my Ford Excursion for $115.00 with free shipping. But I know Dorman products are some of the best after market parts and quality built. So I went with Dorman. It was an exact exchange and a perfect fit. It came with everything that was needed to do a complete change out. When I replaced the manifold, I also changed the coils and plugs. I used EECP coils because they are one of the best after market coils available. I used Motorcraft plugs. My X runs like new. the old manifold was leaking water and air. So now I have better performance and much quieter sounding engine. For those who stated that they feel their vehicle feels slower with less performance, remember when you disconnect your batter for a period of time, the computer will lose all data on your driving habits. After 50 to 100 miles of your normal driving, you may feel that performance come back. I highly recommend this product.

Good fit, quick ship, and I believe we have finally solved the shuddering engine coil blowing problem.
Ordered this a few months ago, finally found the courage to tackle the project today.I watched a youtube video, then purchased the chilton's manual, and while I'm glad I did both, we really didn't make any progress until I stopped reading the manual and started removing parts. I had previously changed the injectors, plugs, and coils, and that is pretty much what, in addition to the alternator, intake assembly, and fuel rail, you have to remove to get to the manifold, so maybe that is why we gained momentum. It was about a five hour project, and if you are organized and know your way around an engine at a maintenance level, you can do this. I would suggest you invest in a set of thin ratchet wrenches for the tight spots. So we had a little trouble with a broken o-ring on one of the injectors, but once replaced we were able to finish, and it started on the first crank . Sounded a little rough and the check engine light came on and the engine died about 5 miles (half-way) from home. It started, and got me home but it wasn't right. The culprit was a vacuum line, so I fixed that and cleared the code.I will update the review after tomorrows test drive, but I believe we can call this one a success. The funny thing about my 2000 Expedition is that when I get one problem fixed, something else goes wrong.I can't get the stereo to power up now, and before it was working well. I changed the fuse, and it still won't turn on; Therefore, I am very optimistic about tomorrows test drive.

Worked great
I installed this on my 2002 Ford F150 5.4 V8. So far it's still working with no issues after almost a year.

Not the right part
Not OEM, not the right manifold for ford trition 5.4. Original has sensor for egr valve attached to plenum. I tried installing and bypassing but without deleting egr completely this entire manifold is useless. I am now doing job again with felpro gaskets on the original intake. 😄
