Quality set that gets the job done for a great price
So this is your basic ultra light cook set. I'll go over my perceptions as far as pros and cons below, then summarize my overall feeling.Pros:-Super light weight, great for backpacking.- Each piece serves an essential purpose, but you could save more weight by ditching the aluminum cup or one of the larger cookware objects.- When all set inside one another and clasped together with the handle of the pan (as anticipated by the manufacturer) there is no jangling or shaking; its a nice secure fit.- Heats up quickly and cools quickly.- The price! Much cheaper than other sets on here.Cons:- Food does stick. As other reviews say, use sand or gravel to scrub, then rinse with water. Good as new.- Handle can get hot if left on fire or heat source for a long time.- Metal cup can get hot when filled with hot liquids.Overall, I think this is a great set for its purpose. I am not cooking gourmet meals when I camp, because I'm trying to save weight and time and not bring all kinds of food supplies. This set allows one to boil water and fry something simultaneously, then have a mess plate to throw your eggs in and a cup to drink the coffee you just boiled in. It will serve well for making simple meals and eating them, while not taking up space or weight in your backpack. It is a no frills set up that will be something you can rely on, if you are ok with no frills. Can't be beaten for the price.

This is a good basic campset.
This is a really good starter/basic campset. It is aluminum,so it wont' last very long if you scrub them with brillo pads-- so be warned ! I wore some weak spots in one after just 20 uses and it ended up with a hole in that spot, but i was using the green brillo pads, too-- probably too aggressive for the aluminum. If you wash by hand with a cloth, which i did for the first 10 uses, I would expect these to last for a while.I do NOT recommend putting these in the dishwasher.. bad things happened after just one time in mine (surface started pitting and came out with what appears to be dried food, but turned out to be some kind of coating flaking off that didn't take well to the heated dry cycle in my dish washer.)The coffee mug is a little small, but it's also compact and fits inside, which is nice and would not be possible if it was bigger.Since these are lightweight aluminum, they will dent pretty easily, but that's the nature of the lightweight aluminum, not something bad about this product.Otherwise, i've been happy with this set. I bought a second one, if that tells you anything.

It's a great lightweight mess kit for 1-2 people. Perfect for lightweight backpacking.
I’ve wanted to camp more for a while now, so I finally got a group of friends together and did it. I purchased this set as a rudimentary set to use, and was supposed to be one of two people to bring “dishes” into camp. Well, they forget their set, so I was definitely glad I purchased one before we went camping. This set served my purposes well, and is definitely meant for one or two people, max. If you have a small group of people, or cook in batches, it can still do the trick, but it will just take longer. I’m confident this mess kit should last me a while. Yes, it scratches easily and loses its shine quickly, but I really don’t care about that since I only got it to function as a lightweight kit. There are four main pieces in this mess kit: a small cup, “frying” pan, a shallow pot, and a shallow bowl. The cup was able to hold about 8 oz. of liquid, the frying pan could easily fit a seared sausage, and the pot was able to fit about half a can of soup with about ¼” to spare at the top (in other words, enough for one person).PROS:-Lightweight.-Easy to assemble the handles.-They all stack together, so they take up less room in your pack.-Perfect to use with a small camping stove.-Heats up quickly, so you use less butane. Only takes a minute or so cool down enough to eat, but it kept the soup warm the whole time.CONS:-Like many people said before me, they stick very easily.-I don’t know if this is just my paranoia, but the handles seemed very flimsy. They didn’t break off while in use, but I was constantly afraid they would.

Just as it should be, but..
The package came right on time. I had a few problems with ups because the package was designated to need a signature for some reason. I live in an apartment and am usually out or in class. Other than that everything went smoothly as delivery goes. The packaging itself was solid and the coleman box it came in seems to protect the set very well. My only complaint is that when i made some tea over my pop-can stove for the first time to test it, the little cup i used to drink out of had a crack in it! about a third of the bottom of the cup has a hairline crack that leaks significantly. This was obviously a production flaw and not the sellers fault. I would like to get a replacement, but it was so cheap i can live. Ill probably try and epoxy the crack. Its not a heat bearing component, as it's only used to drink out of. The rest of the set is as expected, about the perfect size to backpack with. It's not non-stick, but use some sand and water and it'll all come out the same. Decent product minus the defect. But still, Coleman, c'mon.

Perfect for solo camping.
Took this on a dispersed camping trip up to the far end of Eldorado National Forest. Threw every part onto a Jetboil burner, suspended over the open flame of a campfire, and set it directly on hot wood coals. Held up just fine. The pan got slightly bent, but I just banged it out with the butt of my knife. With the price and quality of the items, it was to be expected and really wasn't a big problem.TL:DR - Whole set is stamped sheet metal, but works fine and is good for the price.
