Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking Boot

I recently moved somewhere with lots of amazing hiking opportunities and decided to invest in some good shoes. Excellent decision. These boots are so comfortable and very sturdy. My feet haven’t gotten sore at all, and they have a really nice grip for more sheer rock-scaling. There’s also a ton of sand here, and they do really well with that too. Bonus if you are in red dirt because it matches the boot color quite well. True to size, worth every penny.

I just bought these boots about 2 weeks ago for a trip to national parks. Without breaking them in whatsoever, I hiked the following national parks, Arches, Canyon Lands, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree, plus unique parks along the way, and City and beach walking. These hiking boots are very impressive.On this trip, I took three other pair of boots and two sneakers but I choose these boots 90 percent of the time because they are comfortable and provide excellent support. They look nice, are well balanced, not bulky or heavy. Keeps feet protected and comfortable. Couldn't ask for more.

Beautiful color boot and laces match well. This is my first pair of hiking boots. I think I hiked/walked 20+ miles in 4 1/2 days. Some of the hiking was rough. These boots held up well. I thought I had on normal sneakers they were so comfortable. Walked in small water puddles so nothing but sole was in the water. I can't say whether or not I would have had wet feet if I went in deeper. Wore a pair of wool socks and feet were toasty. Plenty of room in the boot. Ordered my normal shoe size. Weight is good. Sole is super anti-skid. Hiking over lava in Iceland was easy wearing these boots. Time will tell how they hold up.

I ordered these a few weeks ago but wanted to give them a full run before reviewing them. I just got back from a camping/hiking trip in Shenandoah National Park and put these boots thru their paces.To begin with I ordered a size 11 by accident. I meant to order an 11 wide, however the 11 fit perfectly! Unless you have extremely wide feet I would not order the wide.I did some serious hiking in them which included rock scrambling and some small water crossings. Traction was great and my feet stayed bone dry through the water crossings. They are also comfortable to wear and my feet felt good even after 5 miles of hiking.Overall a great boot for the price.

The shoes look great and feel premium right out of the box. I really liked the design and overall comfort. However, they gave me a pretty bad shoe bite on the ankle during the first few wears. I had to buy longer socks just to avoid the irritation. Once I started wearing them with longer socks, the issue improved, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re planning to wear them with low-cut socks or no-shows. Would’ve been a 5-star purchase otherwise.

Love these boots. Bought for a trip to Alaska. Kept my feet dry. Comfortable to wear all day. They were tight and a little stiff when they first arrived but after wearing them around a few times for a few hours they were totally fine. Good quality.

I bought other waterproof shoes and there was no support so I purchased these. What a great buy. I walk about 10 miles a day and these make the biggest difference. A little break in time and I wear socks with these. My feet have stayed 100% dry in pouring rain and walking through puddles. They are also super supportive. They seem quite durable and I expect to have these for many years. I bought my normal size and they fit true to size. Very comfortable. A little on the heavy side but that’s what I expected with the quality materials used for waterproofing.
