Why do you have to be directly over the light for the remote to work?

Hi, thanks for reaching out to us with your question. RF signals are the only type of signal that can penetrate water. That said, RF signals are easily interfered by many signals in the air such as cell phone signals, Wi-Fi, etc. Every situation and location will be different based on these interferences. If you press one of the color mode buttons on the remote and the mode doesn’t change try moving to a different location and retry. Thanks, No More Green Technologies.

I have a pentair aqualin iii nichless light is this light a good replacement

This light in fully encased so no leakage. Burnt out another light with the insert type bulb cost me $90

I can’t get the remote to communicate with the light, the light it’s on but steady and no matter which button I press nothing happens.

When I first tried it, nothing happened. Then I realized it didn’t come with a battery. After getting the unique 12V battery and installing, it still didn’t really work that well, but it did work within about 8-10 feet of the light (light is about 12 inches below water surface). So in summary, the remote is not the strong part of this light, in my opinion. Hope this helps.
