At Games Arcade Master

I got this as a gift for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it! He always wants to go to a local bar that has old arcade games but now we can do that at home. It's super easy to hook this up to any TV and there's tons of games on it. I admit we hadn't heard of a lot of the games and the directions aren't very clear on what buttons to use for certain games, but after some trial and error we could figure it out. He really loves the fighting games. This machine was a big hit with all of his brothers and the only thing I wish we could change, would be to make it for multiple players to play at a time.

I've bought a few similar clone/emulation-based systems in the past and liked them all. This one is virtually identical in spec and operation to the Megadrive Arcade Ultimate Portable/Genesis Gopher with the same menu system and similar emulation core. This means the rom compatibility is about the same and there is a slight 'off-key' sound imbalance (noticable in some games more than others), but on comparison it is slightly better sound quality than the Gopher and this includes a few extra games as standard; notably Virtua Fighter 2 which I could not get to work by adding the rom on an SD card in the Gopher.I don't think this system supports battery backup as per the Gopher (so sorry no game saving on RPG's etc.) but the emuation itself is good, compatibility is high, and although not true arcade-quality, the joystick and buttons are precise and very responsive and the system is comfortable to hold whilst playing. I've yet to take it apart and inspect the guts but it should make a decent project system for DIYers too.Being in England I had to pay a bit more shipping but for any other UK shoppers wondering about importing one (it's not out in the UK yet), you will need either a travel adapter for the US plug or a pretty standard 9v 5mm jack power adapter to replace it, which I happened to have lying around. It is also NTSC only, which is fine on most modern flat-screens which usually have auto or selectable PAL/NTSC options but it will either be in black+white or not work on older TV's. In terms of price, from this great value supplier it worked out to around £45 with the shipping though you may have to pay customs charges if randomly selected for inspection, depending on the weight of your order. I order a lot from abroad and from the US about a third of my parcels get checked so you will need to factor this in (would be about £8 on this item).It unfortunately doesn't support any kind of simultaneous 2-player play but overall a great system and the expandability by SD makes it a worthwhile purchase. Give it a try if you're a casual retro gamer after a cheap system.

The sound is a little off, but the whole idea is fricken amazing! My 6 month will learn to play older games now and I love that it feels like an actual arcade!!

Graphics are really horrible.......

The concept of this is really cool but the games on this are absolutely horrid. I even grew up playing these games and I only knew a couple of them. Don't waste your time

Well I got this for the 9 year old boy, because he don't need a PS4. Gotta learn games OLD school first fo gods sake. He is happy with this because he can play the games I grew up on and see how we had to deal with what was then cutting edge graphics and game play. The biggest cool part of this is that he now has over 200 games to pay for $40 !!! go to this link and download the games to an SD card and put it in the machine and it will play them as they are!!! Super fun!! Well made, and my whole family loves it! Never played Sega before but it's games were amazing and the controllers work well. Defintiy buy this over the Atari retro which was a disappointment.

It works really great. really great for the money. Not all rooms work with it and vsound can be a little off but nothing is perfect.th joystick is responsive and works well.I cam very happy I bought one.
