Walker 41727 Exhaust Pipe 2.5" Inlet (OD) 2" Outlet (ID)

My father and I used to run his small auto parts store. When you order auto parts it's important to know exactly what fits. I got under my car, saw the problem, went to a parts catalog, and realize that what I need to patch my system was a short repair pipe with a flange that would engage with the flange on the catalytic converter on my 1999 subaru outback legacy,, and enable me to connect it with the end of the resonator pipe. The previous owner had used cheap parts and the pipe's connection the it's flange had rusted away. This fits the flange perfectly. It is heavy duty, and I have no doubt it will last as long as the rest of the exhaust system. I was thrilled to discover this item on Amazon and went to the manufacturer's (walkerexhaust) on-line catalog with the part number from Amazon to confirm the dimensions. When I came I had to cut it to the required length (because of the nature of the pipe I am connecting to I used a butt-joint, stainless, flat-band clamp).In short this thing has a robust flange requires flat gasket, has an inlet portion that is flared to 2.5 inches, and the pipe end will fit over the end of a new 2 inch OD pipe. If the old pipe has expanded with rust, you will might to do some sanding. In the old days, you used to go to a parts counter and describe what you wanted and pay for the intelligence of an individual to assist you.. Now you must either remove and measure the old part or use an on line parts catalog to look up the part you need and that is hard with a generic part like this. If the part meet's its own specification and does not fit it's not the parts fault, it's simply that the wrong part was ordered. If this is the part you need, it will serve perfectly

This thing is AWESOME fit like a glove, I like the fact that I can also remove it if it goes bad again. Won’t have to take it into a muffler shop to replace it.
