Disappointing.
Disappointing. My brother was a member of the 501st: UK Garrison, and being made by Shepperton Studios by the legendary Andrew Ainsworth (the original builder of the storm trooper armour), I had very high expectations. I was sadly disappointed.Moulding by and large is very good for a resin replica, but on certain parts you can see tooling marks left over from the mould master, swirls where filler was used prior to casting. Convincing for screen use, but when held in hand the illusion is broken, and the unit is light; very light, feeling little more than a plastic toy. Some nice details but not enough to justify the price. Upon handling paint immediately began flaking off exposing the matt black resin underneath. Presentation is nice and would make a lovely display piece on its included stand with certificate of authenticity, but for actual "trooping" I don't imagine this would last long.I hope this was just my own poor experiences of a defective unit, so I have rated this 3*, but for £200 I expected better.

I was very disappointed all round with this product
Sadly, I was very disappointed all round with this product... The paint on the screws had very noticeable chips, leaving the metal underneath stand out like a sore thumb. It felt quite flimsy and the lack of attention to the all round finished product I felt was lacking with examples of chips and scratches to the rod that joins the acrylic stand together. One or two small defects I can live with, but with as many as it had, sadly I returned it.

Expensive and sadly not great.
It's a Stormtrooper blaster and it was pretty expensive. My biggest problem with this isn't that it looks rough up close. I suspect that it's supposed to be viewed from a far like you would a painting but for me the stand was too fiddly. However once I used the insignificant looking wire, also included in the box it sits perfectly well on the stand. Just don't admire it up close is my advice.

Very pleased with mine
Very pleased with mine. It is a display piece and a conversation piece. Some nice details but do not expect it to work like a toy gun. The trigger is fixed, for example. But the delight on people's faces when they hold it is wonderful to behold. I wish I could find a 280C to go with it!
