Must have for your CAT 6 cable needs
I recently used the Klein Tools Pass-Thru Data Plugs (Cat6) for a home network installation, and they exceeded my expectations. As someone who frequently works on network setups, I’ve found that these pass-through plugs are a game-changer. The design allows the wires to pass all the way through the connector, making it easy to verify correct wiring before crimping. This feature alone saves a ton of time and frustration compared to traditional plugs. The build quality of these connectors is excellent. They’re durable, secure, and designed to handle high-speed Cat6 data transfers without any performance issues. The connection quality is outstanding—no drops or interference, and the data transfer speeds have been top-tier since using these plugs. Additionally, the compatibility with Klein’s pass-through crimper ensures a clean, professional cut every time. No more guessing or trimming extra wires after crimping! If you’re looking for dependable, high-quality data plugs that streamline the entire installation process, these Klein Tools Pass-Thru Data Plugs are a must-have. They make setting up Ethernet cables easy and efficient, and the end result is flawless. Highly recommend for both professionals and DIYers!

Easy RJ45 Replacement
These connectors worked easily to replace a broken RJ45 connector. I didn't have the Kline tool designed specifically for these connectors, by my generic RJ45 cable crimper worked just fine, then I trimmed the protruding wires off flush.

Does not fit older Ethernet ports
Update: As it is cat 6 and these do fit cat 6 receptacles, I am changing the rating. These are easy to use and make verification that your wires are where they should be. Unfortunately, these don't fit AT&T wireless modems or Unifi wireless U6+ APs or the UCG max ports. There is a little nose on the connector that prevents the terminal from inserting completely. They do fit in the keystone ports (iwillink), so all is not lost. Your mileage may vary. I should have done more research on the connector before buying.

Good solid contact
Very good for the DIY’er who needs the ‘pass thru’ type of connector. This allows you to strip the outside insulation off, untwist the 4 pairs, and then place them in correct order to slide in the connector. This allows you to pull the entire thing onto the outside insulation and crimp into place. Small diagonal cutters are needed to trim all the ends flush to the connector and you’re good to go.

Easy to wire correctly, and a non-cutting crimper can work fine.
Work well, and are easier to wire correct ly than non pass through variants. These would be even better if the holes, or some other guides, extended further back to reduce the possibility of thinner gauge stranded cables from twisting before they reach the contacts. Tip: If you don’t have a trimming crimper, push the cable as far as you can into the connector, and trim the lines square about 1-2 mm past the end using a sharp pair of wire cutters. Then pull the cable back until the cut is flush with the end of the connector.

The right part to use with the Klein pass-thru crimper.
Works as advertised. These are the proper plugs to use with the Klein pass-thru crimper and they were simple to use and worked perfectly. A bit pricey, but much easier to use than non pass-thru plugs where you have to separate and trim all of the wires accurately to avoid shorts and opens. These are all I will use in the future.

Makes it easy
These pass-thru connectors are way better than traditional crimped connectors. Along with the Klein pass-thru crimp tool, these will save you time and effort.

These Are the Ones You Want
I am using these with 23 AWG solid copper CAT6 cable. Their design is such that the cable sheathing can be pushed a full 1/2 inch into the connector. This allows me to cut the eight wires with a pair of extra small nippers and then pull the cable back out 1 mm. This causes the ends of the eight wires to be INSIDE the connector so I am guaranteed there are no short circuits. I use this method because I don't have the new RJ45 crimping tool that both crimps and cuts the eight wires. My old crimper plus small nippers does the job just fine. I first bought another brand of RJ45 connectors and their design would only let the sheathing to be pushed 1/4 inch inside the connector. I threw them in the trash. This is the first time I tried using the new "pass through" style RJ45 connectors. They are SO much easier to use. The eight wires do NOT have to be the exact same length and once they are extended through the connector, the color sequence is much easier to verify. "Pass through" connectors are all I will buy from now on.
