Is this legit from France real truffle or is it a Chinese fake

You know, truffles do grow outside of France. Having said that, this is tasty, flavorful, aromatic and probably the best non too expensive truffle product I have ever tried. ( And I tried a lot.) Not sure about what you meant on " Chinese fake" as I have not encountered any faux truffle products coming from that country. But if you meant that this may contain artificial truffle flavor instead of the real thing, nope. It's a hundred percent real and awesome. Please keep in mind that am not associated with the company producing this product, but as their loyal costumer, since I purchased it multiple times, I guess your question showed up in my mailbox.

hello, i just received my jar of truffles from ups. the contents are frozen. will that affect the quality? thank you ,melissa

I am surprised that the content of your jar was frozen. What I've received before, was the minced black truffles in oil, and it was perfect. I think that freezing truffles won't affect their scent since it is a standard way of preserving truffles, however, I am surprised why it was done in your case, since the oil itself is a preservative for truffles.

Does this contain synthetic flavoring such as 2,4-dithiapentane?

Real truffles contain 2,4-dithiapentane, (it is most obvious part of truffles.)  Fake truffle products also contain it, only it is synthetically made.  What fake truffles often don’t contain is much of anything else, (the complex and subtle flavors of the real thing.)

So answer the question you are asking here: reading the label, it seems to include real truffles, and then they add fake stuff in too…  Since the ingredient list is by quantity, it seems like there is more real truffle than fake, but since the fake truffle is just a very strong concentrated liquid, I’m gonna guess that more of the flavor comes from the fake than the real.

TLDR: Has both real and fake truffle in it.
