Nicely designed and built
Really nicely designed and built sun shade, and it fits my Canon 6D OG perfectly.Arrived with no instructions, and it didn't go on *exactly* like the installation video, but I got there in the end.Thin plastic, but sturdy, and the design probably wouldn't have fit with thicker plastic. But you do have to be careful not to snag the shade on anything - like going in or out of your camera bag - because it's held to the camera only by the OVF, and I think (but don't know) the plastic could bend or break if you weren't careful with it.Doors spring open nicely, and stayed closed nicely in the half-dozen times I used it.I returned the screen not because of any defect but because it didn't fit my shooting style, which is focus and shoot with OVF, then check results on EVF. However, you can't look through the OVF with the sun screen open, so you shoot with the OVF with shade closed, open it to see the results on the EVF, close the shade, and go back to the OVF. slowed me down too much.Great for anybody who doesn't rely on the OVF as much as I do.

Good but doesn't stay on the camera.
After being a long time Hoodman user I Really wanted to like this because of its low profile. Works to a degree but Item does not stay together and the top shade easily falls off camera. The part that attaches to the body is secure so I guess I could try some glue but I thought it easier to return and go Back to the hoodman.

Sunshade for the Nikon D-7100
I had a Hoodman on an older camera and liked it, though it didn't last long. The inner spring quit. When I upgraded my camera I checked for a new one but I couldn't find one for my d-7100. Then I saw this one.First impressions is that this one isn't as durable as the hoodman. The hoodman attached to the view finder and the LCD screen. This one only attaches to the view finder. The plastic doesn't seem strong enough so when I pop open the hood, it feels like I could break the plastic. It doesn't have the professional feel as the hoodman. It blocks out any glare that you might get on your LCD. This one cost much less than the name brand but this has a feature the hoodman didn't have. The hood on this one detaches with a simple slide. This comes in handy when I'm reviewing after every shot, which I don't usually. The only bad thing about this feature is that maybe it detaches just a little too easy. Time will tell. I may just lose the thing while my camera hangs off my shoulder.Manipulating the buttons around the LCD screen feels a little awkward, but not undo able. I haven't gone out shooting with it yet because of this pandemic and I think I've shot just about everything close to home.Bottom line is that this is good for the average shooter or the shooter that uses live view.To make this a 5-star it would need to be made of stronger plastic or at least attach to the camera at more places than just the view finder.

Love this LCD Screen Shade on my Nikon D7500 DX DLSR
Highly recommend.Added this paragraph 9/27/2022. Made another modification after removing the clear screen cover. I glued the base and flip up piece together because the flip off piece was easily knocked off when carrying the camera around. Now I just attach the base to the screen with the glued on flip up piece and the two pieces stay on pretty well now.I love this LCD Screen shade on my Nikon D7500 DX DLSR. It allows me to shoot video using the LCD screen (the only way a DLSR works taking video to my knowledge) of my grandson playing soccer in bright daylight conditions.Due to the way the "base piece" clips onto the LCD screen, then I slide the "shade part" into the base when needed, i found that I could remove the thick clear plastic protective cover from the base piece by removing several screws. Now I can attached the shade piece when needed, yet when popped open, I can still use the touch screen to tap for focus adjustments or to scroll through images in review mode. This flip up shade lets me shoot video using the LCD screen, fold the shade closed, and quickly use the viewfinder to take photos. This will save me having to buy a mirrorless system to leverage the Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) to take video in bright light!

DO NOT BUY IT
If you are shooting video for fun. Go for itIf you are shooting video as your job. Do not trust this product.I opened the product on set and it failed in parts directly. Top barn door missed a small part and could not secured on the hood. Moreover, the product will make SUPER STRONG reflection of yourself when you are filming. In this case, I toke it off when I was on set... It's useless and poor quality.

Really makes LCD screen easy to see in bright sunlight
I had my D800 converted to Infra-Red. Because IR focuses a little differently, I usually focus manually with the live-view screen. It's really hard to see the LCD screen in daylight. This sunscreen completely eliminated the problem. It's easy to install - just remove your clear plastic LCD screen protector, and replace it with the sunscreen - it snaps into place in the same slots the screen protector uses. It folds flat, so just pull up from the bottom and it locks into the open position. To close, just push the two side pieces inward and fold the cover closed. It's made of plastic with spring loaded hinges, but seems pretty sturdy. I would recommend that you fold it up whenever it's not in use - it wouldn't take much to bend or break the side 'wings' if you caught it on something.

Will not stay on
The concept is great but I could not keep the attached to the camera. The attachment design is flawed and any slight movement will detach it from the view finder. If they would make the piece that attaches to the view finder better only then would i rerecommen it. I have to also mention that the instructions are not helpful.
