Amazing results - I was a non-believer, but am now blinded by the light!
I was 100% skeptical about this thing having any impact on my musty basement. I thought I was buying snake oil, but was at my wits end when it came to how to deal with the smelly basement on Cape Cod. We had a dehumidifier for years that would remove the moisture from the basement, but we would still get a "wet" spot on the floor at its lowest point and we had a musty smell that had us looking for ways to seal the basement door. When we would open all the windows and the bulkhead, we would get relief, and it would smell okay, but once we closed things up when it got cold or was raining we were back to a smelly basement.I installed this where our floor is the lowest and where we often would see condensation on the floor and have it venting out one of the basement windows that I adapted for the purpose with a vent.I am absolutely overwhelmed by the difference that this device has wrought - my basement musty odor is "cured" - it smells great down there and here is why - this little thing acts like a chimney of sorts, it pulls up the nasty moist air from the floor and shoots it out the window - and sucks down fresh air from the upper floors - circulating the air into the basement with fresh air, BUT also removing the worst air that is down near the floor.I couldn't be more shocked at the results this little device has delivered - amazing. I really thought I was going to be dissapointed as I thought "what on earth can this thing really do" but the answer is in the description - a dehumidifier gets the water out, but you still have the same stinky air in your basement - this thing really does the job and I could not be more pleased. I show everyone who comes into the house. My wife is also amazed - she used to dread going down to do laundry - now, she has no excuse!

will lose a lot of energy
this unit does not exchange air . You will lose a lot of energy. I ran a smoke test on unit does not move 120cfmdue to items inside and turn at exit. This causes a lot of turbulence and reduces air flow a great deal. Buy a HRVit will do a better job and save heat and cooling cost.

I would screw it together to keep it more plum.. But they work fantastic. if you have a lot of humidity you need two, If not just one.. Installing was easy. A+ on that. not too noisy. I have one in my basement to try it out.. Very happy, n now I been installing these units in many of my customers basements..

Ventilate for less - humidity control ... maybe not
I recently installed the Breeze in the 1500 sq.ft. basement of a new house. I had previous experience with a Humidex but did not want to pay the high price for a Humidex. The Breeze is a Humidex clone for 1/4 of the price of a Humidex. The Breeze folks were great about answering my product questions while I was researching basement ventilation products. During the time that I have been using the Breeze the air quality has greatly improved in the basement and the humidity has been stable around 70%. I was hoping to see the humidity go down closer to 50%. Compared to the Humidex the breeze has a plastic casing, a less powerful fan and does not have a fan speed control. For the price it is doing a good job of ventilating my basement.December 2014 update - the Breeze is still keeping the air fresh and has introduced a unexpected side-benefit. Because it draws air from upstairs to the basement it is providing some heat for my basement. I am concerned about the spring and summer when the humidity returns. 70% is really not a comfortable humidity level in the basement (too high). The new DL model ($399) would probably get my humidity down lower but I'm not sure I want to invest that much more money to find out if it will do the job.September 2015 update - The single fan unit cannot keep my basement dry during the hottest days of the summer. I need to look for another solution. I was hoping that it would be able to handle the summer humidity but it could not.February 2016 update - I turn on the unit for a few hours a week to refresh the air in my basement but for humidity control I have given up and gone to a traditional dehumidifier. I am changing my rating to a 3. I was really hoping that this product was going to save me from emptying the bucket - but it did not.

An excellent product and good customer service
I purchased the EZ Breeze system about a year and a half ago because the acrid smell of the basement started to permeate through the house. We had several animals (2 cats and a dog) and the cat litter was in the basement. The litter had a strong odor that I was afraid would seep into the basement walls and floor, so I looked to find a solution. I found the EZ Breeze system on Amazon, and it looked a lot like a similar system recommended to me by the home inspector when I initially purchased the house (but was much cheaper). The system was easy to install, and after a day or two, it virtually eliminated the smells in the basement (including the strong cat litter smell).Unfortunately, the fan in the system broke, but I called up the owner of the company (John), who told me that the product had a five-year warranty, and he suggested several ways to move forward in order to fix the broken fan. Without any hassle, John offered to send me a replacement fan that would be easy to install. This small business really addressed everything I needed, and I would recommend its products to any homeowner looking to address his/her basement issues.

Great value, low operational cost
We looked at more expensive options for our 1866 stone cottage. We're very pleased with this solution. The lower level of the house is built into a berm. This makes the downstairs especially humid after heavy rain because the stone foundation absorbs the moisture. We installed this to exhaust through a window sill and it has made a tremendous difference for the better. The downstairs will never be like new construction but it is a lot more comfortable. The cost to run 24/7/365 is hardly an issue. (Certainly less costly than running an Energy Star portable dehumidifier!!). I don't mind the look, either. It's next to our laundry set-up and mechanical corner. Recommend.
