A bit flimsy
Once we figured it out, the directions were not great, it worked well, however it is flimsy.

The best buy for a little boy!
My now teenage son had one of these and it was a household favorite toy for us all! (Old and young alike.) Every time we need a gift for a little boy, I get this. And every time the recipient parent gives me feedback, it's that their little boy absolutely loves it! Easy to assemble once you get the knack of it the first time. Just a solid fun toy. My son could watch it go for an hour or more when he was little. It's a hit! You won't be disappointed.

Very fun toy that’s creatively designed
It’s such a clever toy. It appeals to all ages. I got it for whatever grandchildren were interested in watching it and they all were. Adults included! I wanted to find a train that did functions and this one definitely fits the bill. At first I was concerned that there be no human interaction but a human is still needed for making sure it is all running smoothly because every once in while there’s a stray ball. Less often a train cover gets askew. But these are things that are exciting because you get to interact with a quick fix. If you like to lay track in different configurations this won’t satisfy that need. But it definitely satisfies having a need for a toy train with a motor and transporting functions.

very fun set, good thing to keep you (or your child) entertained
The media could not be loaded. this set is very fun and nice, perfect for a thomas fan or little thomas fan. the size isn’t all that big but can’t be put into too small spaces. also, the balls can get lost easily so make sure you keep an eye on those. other than that a great set.

Fun item ... well designed
We had this exact same set for our son well over 30 years ago, but it wasn't in the John Deere motif. It was just called Big Loader back then. The engineering on this toy has stood the test of time. The "implements" have been updated to look like John Deere, but the function of the track and what the tools do is exactly the same. Amazing engineering three plus decades ago still providing lots of smiles. This time for our grandson!

The Product works the way it is intended to work.
We own the original Big Loader we bought for our kids back in the 1980s and It is still in great condition but the treads on the wheels are worn out so it will not make the turns or go up the hill so we just purchased a new one for my grandson. Here are the issues with the set we purchased.1. The manufacture has changed the material the tracks are made of to a softer plastic and the connectionsare less secure and come apart easily when bumped.2. About 1/2 the time the loader won't dump into the the sorting ramp.3. The biggest problem is that when the loader scoops up the balls and attempts to dump them into thedump truck the overhead bar won't trip the bucket properly to allow it to dump so it just runs into theshoot and the wheels continue to spin. The overhead trip bar has been changed from the original metalbar to a plastic one and mine just doesn't work properly. WeI know it's the design changes because when Iinterchange my old parts in those places it works fine.We are disappointed in the product and plan on returning it. I don't know if it's just my unit or if other buyers are experiencing the same thing? Also the manufacturer states that the parts are compatible with older models so we thought we could just buy the replacement motorized car but the profile of the motorized car is not exactly the same as the old model so the various bodies of my original Big Loader fall off frequently when they are changing on the track.

Such a great toy to watch, but not for small children to assemble and use.
This is such a great toy! The base vehicle travels from vehicle to vehicle to move the "load." We had this when I was young and my Dad would build it on the kitchen table and we'd watch as it did it's job. We had the one with a construction theme and now it's in the John Deere theme. It works just as well as the old one. Our 3 year old grandsons are intrigued and love to help us put it together and watch it work. 5 stars, for sure! Just know that young children will ruin the moving pieces if left to their own devices. This is a "supervision required" toy, just so that it doesn't get broken.

Not what they used to be.
I bought this for my son’s children. He had some of the same thing in the same company that I bought him in 1984, he loved everything. His kids are three and five respectively they love it. Also, it’s not the quality that it was back in 1984 in the balls drop off, etc. Believe it or not I still have his down in the drawer of toys that I kept of his because he liked it so much, I guess I’ll bring it down to him for his children so they can enjoy it also. The John Deere version seems a lot better than the only version they had available when I bought this. do yourself a favor get the John Deere version.
