LaMotte Insta-Test 4 Plus, Free Chlorine, Bromine, Alkalinity, pH, Total Hardness Testing

These LaMotte Insta-Test strips are by far the absolute best for hot tub/spa owners!! I totally would recommend these testing strips to anyone! The bottle is easy to open and grab a test strip. (No more fumbling to catch a test strip out of a small hole container before all of them come flying out.) Easy to read and very accurate. Also, the price on Amazon is a great price compared to purchasing it at pool/spa dealers. (Delivery was quick, too.) To be safe, each month, I take a water sample to a local spa dealer for testing. Every time, without fail, the results prove to be accurate with these test strips. Before I found these beauties, I had spent lots of money on chemicals that were simply not needed. First off, we are lucky in the fact that our water is soft water. The only adjustments I have to really check are calcium hardness and chlorine levels. (Our alkalinity and pH are always right on point.) I started out using another popular brand of test strips and ones that came recommended by our spa dealer. All I knew after carefully following the chemical additions for our size of hot tub down to the letter, the reading it gave could not have been true after 24 hours. I thought, perhaps, it was a bad batch of test strips? So I bought another container of test strips to find that I was having the same issues. After several attempts of trying to get the right water chemistry, I threw up my hands in frustration and took a sample of my hot tub water to a different local spa dealer (not my spa dealer) for testing. The alkalinity, pH and calcium hardness were perfect. However, they told me my chlorine levels were very high. The local spa dealer recommended these beauties and I took the bait. I am happy that I did! So, if you find yourself at your wits end by spending lots of money on chemicals for your hot tub, chances are the test strips are the problem. I definitely recommend this product and will definitely buy again on Amazon!

Strips work fine. Amazon put a sticker over the test values. Now there is sticky glue where I have to read results. C'mon Amazon, that was duh.

These are the best test strips I have ever used. I have used other brand and the colors don’t even match the charts on the bottle. I tested the insta test with my pool test tube water kit and the strips were almost the same results. They might be a little pricey but well worth the money.

Exactly what was advertised and what I wanted.

These are great test strips. They are more expensive, but worth the extra. These are far superior to some of the cheap brands which I had found to be very unreliable (completely wrong!). I had previously brought some cheap test strips on eBay, and ended up using a lot of chemicals unnecessarily, trying to correct a problem which didn't exist. LaMotte are a proper company who specialise in water test equipment, so I trust these and have found them to be very reliable so far. The moral of the story is don't try to save a few pounds by using cheap test strips, as it could cost you a lot more in wasted chemicals, and time spent trying to put things right again. Just buy some good quality test strips (like these), and get it right first time, so you can enjoy your pool!

After 20+yrs with spas I have determined Lamotte strips are the most accurate with a vibrant color display for all chemicals. The Lamotte 4 is for Chlorine based chems while the LaMotte 5 does both Bromine and Chlorine. Others I had were junk and these last for years.
