All Mountain Style AMS High Impact Frame Guard Extra Solid– Protects your bike from scratches and dings

Ok, let me start off by saying that I’ve used AMS frameguards on other bikes over the years and generally it has worked awesome. Based on previous experiences, I would rate it 5 stars. Based on this experience, I would rate it 2 stars. The pieces I applied looked awesome, and I had no issues putting them on without air bubbles. I thoroughly cleaned the area with isopropyl alcohol, then used a heat gun to get everything perfect. The top tube of my bike came out looking awesome!Here are my 2 issues:1. Some pieces came damaged because the delivery guy just shoved the package into my mailbox. In the future, I would just buy these from my local bike shop to avoid this. 2 pieces had creases on them because of how it got smushed into my mailbox with mail. Once they are creased, when you peel them off the backing to apply them, the crease is still on the pieces, so they will not look perfect.2. They did not adhere to the matte finish of my frame AT ALL. The bike I was applying them to is a Specialized Stumpjumper. The front triangle has a glossy finish, and they stuck beautifully to that. The rear triangle has a matte finish, and the pieces would not stick to it at all. This is a brand new bike, I cleaned the frame (with isopropyl alcohol) before applying them to make sure it was a nice surface to adhere to, but the frameguards did not want to stick to it at all. This is a big downer to me, because I really wanted the pieces on the rear triangle where my heel could rub on the frame, but I can’t get them to stick.Because of the fact that they arrived damaged, and that they did not stick to parts of the frame, I can only give them 2 stars. On another one of my bikes (A Specialized Enduro) I used “Groundkeeper” frameguards, and even though that bike also has a matte finish, the Groundkeeper guards adhered perfectly to it. I do believe that the AMS frameguards are a thicker material that will protect the frame better than other brands, but because they do not stick to matte frame, I will never buy them again.Overall product (if bought from a local bike shop where they will not be damaged in shipping) is a 5 star product if applied to a glossy frame.

I used a heat gun to help mold it but you dont need to do that.

I put this on my gravel bike and I'm completely happy with it. It's been a few months now in all weather conditions and the adhesion still seems perfect, even on small radii, like the seat stays. The color is exactly as I hoped and I've even thought about buying more colors for fun. The only downside, which you could figure out for yourself, is that there are only several pieces that are pre-cut so I got a different clear product from another company that I could fit to all the other random areas on my bike that I wanted to protect. I tried at least 4 related products and if I did it all again I would use this as as the starting point and then a plain roll of clear protector for everything else.

Put some zang on that bike and protect your frame at the same time. Or do it for the looks, no one is judging you.

Great product

I really like these for bike frame protection for several reasons. First of all, they cut/peel easily and attached firmly to the frame, but can be repositioned if necessary. The second reason is durability. I waited several months to post this review because I wanted to have a chance to throw some rocks and mud against them and also put them through multiple washes. So far, they have held up extremely well through hard use and show no signs of peeling at the edges or tearing from a rock shot, etc. I use them in sizes ranging from tiny patches to the full uncut pieces provided, and they all have performed well (see photos). Overall, I highly recommend these and will update again down the rode regarding longer term durability.

Good product, protects the bike pretty good against scratches, and mild crashes, easy to apply.I used a blow dryer and bit of soap with water during application.It’s pricy I bough two of these to protect the bike and realized that I should get the ride wrap custom decals instead .

To expensive for what you get. It works.

Its basically a thick sticker, way overpriced.

Used for my mountain bike, liked how easy it was to apply especially if your cutting sections!! Holding up so far, I ride single track for 1-2 hours about 2-3 times a week and product is doing its job.
