While it may take a bit of effort to learn due to its variety and richer gameplay experience, it's well worth it. Having someone introduce you to the game and explain the rules while playing a practice round with strategy and logic tips is helpful. That's exactly how it happened for us. Once we familiarized ourselves with the standard Sushi Go rules (from the small pack), playing became incredibly enjoyable. When I stumbled upon an offer for the game at a better price than offline shops, I immediately ordered it for our family and friends. Now we can experience an even greater variety of cards and explore different strategies. I want to highlight two things: Our 5-year-old son can play and has even won several times! Although there are some cards and logic that he still struggles with, he handles the game as well as our almost 9-year-old son and often outplays him. It's interesting to observe that each player develops their own unique strategy, favorite card combinations, and preferences. I also tend to stick to the same strategy, so it's important to remind ourselves to mix things up and try different gameplays. Occasionally, we even throw in one or two extra special cards to make the game even crazier. I want to express my gratitude to the inventors of this game for creating such a treasure. It truly captivates both adults and children alike, making it a fantastic addition to our collection.

So much fun. GameWright did the right thing releasing a expanded version that allowed multiple levels of complexity, according with how hardcore the players are. Don't like the stress? Play using the basic cards. Guaranteed fun for all family and friends.

This is a really nice pick&pass game. If you enjoy 7 Wonders but wish you had a gap-filler version of it, this is it. With the Party-box there's lots of variety too, which is what I was missing in the main game. Basically what happens is this: You get a hand of sushi cards. Each turn, you pick one to use, place it in front of you, then after revealing and placing it (all players do this simultaneously), you pass the remaining cards to the next player, getting some from the player on your other side in turn. Rinse and repeat, like a sushi belt moving on with the items. Each card has separate rules for scoring, printed on the cards. Some give flat points, some count only in sets of 3, some you need the most of, etc. As you have to judge what to take and what to pass on based on what the next player down the line is going for, there's a fairly decent amount of tactics in such a short game, and it's just fun to play and everyone can be easily brought on with the adorable little faces on the cards and the easy rules. Two things to complain, but they're so minor it's still 5/5: * A tin box. Absolutely loathe them. Dent constantly, get bent out of shape, don't stack well at all. * American board game size cards, instead of standard size. Makes sleeving a bit more tricky and you *definitely* want to sleeve this, because one type of card is used every play so players would be able to tell from the wear which is which.
