Broke the one on the stairwell (actually made cheaper than this as the metal was thinner. My finger sliding down the rail hit it and broke the original off. Of course I had a bloody finger for a while, but the railing as you walked up the stairs would fail midway up on where I broke the unit.). I thought I'd never find it, but was shocked by just putting in a quick search and finding it. I got it and replaced it immediately. Heck it's thicker and stronger than the original, and yet, fit exactly in the same holes in the wood designer blocks on the wall, and underneath the railing where the catch goes. Very impressed. I might have to change the rest to these as it has really made the whole railing stable.

They look great, and are very sturdy
The brackets I got were of high quality, heavy solid brass. As others have noted, they appear to be a product also manufactured for Stanley. They look great, and are very sturdy. My old ones were made of some crummy alloy and broke apart after years of use. These were definitely solid brass. I'm going to install them on two other handrails in my home. Very nice!

exactly what I was looking for
Was looking for a bracket similar to the others on this handrail & this one is a little thicker and much sturdier. Might change the others to this brand also

Well made
These are nice and heavy to use on our railings where some people have to lean on the rail with more weight. So far have held up well.

Not brass!
This is a cheap imitation brass product being sold with a markup as if it was solid brass. The metal is non-ferrous (likely zinc) coated to look like brass. The screws are steel and coated to look like brass. I discovered this when I attempted to add aging patina to the “brass” - all it did was strip off the coating.

Well made, solid, look good
Good product bought to replace broken old brackets. Not expensive compared to other options, and looks just as good. Can be a little tricky to put on with the second piece that attaches to the bannister itself, but that's a design issue with this style of bracket. Still went up fairly fast, especially since I was replacing brackets and didn't have to drill anything. The polish is bright, the picture here is a very good representation of what you get.-D

solid brass handrail brackets and screws for outdoor wood railing
These are solid, well cast heavy brackets that will last almost indefinitely. They arrived quickly and were protectively packaged. I was unable to purchase this quality at our local hardware store that sold zinc cast brass plated handrail brackets that looked superficially the same but would not hold up as well.
