Easy to assemble and use!
This is my second purchase. The last one I bought eight years ago. Works like a champ! When my spa cover began to take on water weight (don't they all eventually?), this cover lifter still held up, no problem. No drilling necessary into the tub cabinet or into your floor or deck. The anchor plates are very large and slide under the hot tub after you empty out the tub water (you DO change your water from time to time!). Pay close attention to the assembly directions. Make sure the screw heads on the crossbar face the rear of the tub. When you open the tub, they face downward and don't scratch up your cover! I used an impact drill with a Phillips head bit for the fifteen self tapping screws. Makes it very easy. Don't try to use a screwdriver, you will be there all day. If you don't have an impact drill, use a regular drill to hold your Phillips head bit, it will work fine too. Kit comes with two stamped metal wrenches. They are okay, if you have nothing better, but using a socket set and an adjustable wrench speeds things along nicely. The 18" of clearance advertised is pretty close from my experience. Measure your available space at the rear of the hot tub before you buy. Happy soaking!

Easy enough for 63 year old woman to install. Super easy to use!
I have a small tub , approx 5’ x 6’ so I wasn’t sure if this would work. My cover had been punctured and taken on water weight so I needed something to make it easier to get it off and on. After dismantling my cover to let it air dry for a week, I put it back together and installed this rocker. I am a 63 year old woman and had no trouble assembling and installing it. I had emptied my tub for a scrub so that made it easier to slide it under but I still had to use a crowbar. Super easy, all by myself. It took a few times to get it in the right place and I tested several times before screwing it together. Because of the small size tub I couldn’t put the bottom pieces 8” from the back as it says to do. That position put the crossbar way too far over the wrong side of the center fold on the lid. So I decided to try it where it fit- right about at the edge and so far, so good. I’m hoping it holds up ok that way! The tub is full now and it is so easy to get my cover off and, most importantly, back on! The hardest part of this was taking my cover apart to try and rid some water weight. Not easy by any stretch but it did help. It’s not as light as it once was but it helps. If you have a similar problem, do a YouTube search for help.I’m so excited to be able to easily use my tub again, thanks to this cover holder!

Works as it should.
Does the job. This particular cover lift was recommended by our spa manufacturer as it requires no drilling into the spa cabinet to mount. I've had cover lifts on earlier tubs that I like better as they got the cover away from the tub a bit more when open, whereas this lift fully open allows the cover to rest against the edge of the tub. But does the job, easy to set up, and price is low.

Bought twice
We like it. Lasted for about 6 years then part broke off. We bought it again. Works great! Not a lifetime product but we use the hot tub all the time so expected wear and tear.

Works great
Like the fact that not screwed into cabinet sides since they’re made of thin plastic. Had cover lift on old tub that was wood sides and worked flawlessly foe over 15 years and may still be working. Great simple solution to the problem of the large cover.

Very flimsy; do not recommend
Very flimsy; cannot handle a brand new Spa cover that is pretty lightweight and has not collected any water. In order to open it you have to have a person on each side because pushing one side will cause the lifter to bend. Do not recommend.
