Is the casing of this product made of metal?

The outer casing is made of plastic, not metal. It is not magnetic, it has a dull thud when rapped with my knuckles, it is warm to my skin when touched (whereas the metal end brackets feel cool to my skin). For these reasons I have concluded it is not metal. It's a nice product, just not metal like they claim.
