This was surprising at how natural the flavoring was to me. I was expecting something more like the blue jellybean "blueberry" flavor- or every something that's just "berry" adjacent. This was spot on with actual bluebs from the bush- which might be its downfall to some. It's mild- clearly blueberry- but not the "hit you over the head" candy flavoring you might expect. A touch of lemon or citric acid will punch it right up, though, if that's what you're aiming for. Pleasantly suprised.

Loran. Candy oils have been a staple in my cabinets since I can remember. My mom kept them on hand for candy making, or add a few drops in cake baking when flavorings ran out. I love these highly concentrated oils.

Around the holidays, I like to make a lot of candy. I usually make Old Fashioned Hard Tack candy every year. My go to oils for my candy making are always the Lorann brand. Spearmint is one of my favorite flavors so when I saw this, I knew I had to have it. The flavor profiles of the Lorann oils are much stronger than traditional extracts from regular store brands. Keep that in mind when making candy, less is more. Though I typically use the whole dram in each batch, if you are sensitive to strong flavors then you may want to try a half a bottle to begin with.
