Hearing Impaired... Totally Impressed
Upgraded my living room Bravia TV recently, so wanted to upgrade from the Vizio 2.1 system I was using. This system was a great choice. I'm a bit hard of hearing, so the Voice feature improved vocals... loud and clear. The Sound Field feature is well balanced and capable of shaking the rafters. Only downside is having the subwoofer tethered directly to the soundbar. Would prefer it being Wireless and placing it further away from the TV, but that's a small inconvenience. Otherwise, the system was a breeze to install and works perfectly... highly recommend!

Blown Away
This system is incredible. I don't know how anyone can put less than five stars. The audio is crisp, bass is really loud, and it was easy to set up with the app.

Positves and Negatives
Watching TV is where this soundbar really shines. Voices are clear and understandable, probably due to the center channel speaker. That feature also makes music playback heavy in the vocals and midrange which sounds somewhat unbalanced. The music playback also lacks presence but I have to remember this is just a soundbar. I've had mid price point Samsung soundbars and wasn't happy with the Bass, this Bass is good and at higher volumes can get loud. If you like a lot of Bass you won't be disappointed. The setup with my Sony TV was easy and the app works well. I do have a problem playing MP3 files on my Windows 11 laptop although my Windows 10 laptop plays those files fine. I called support and they recommended I wait for an update as this is a new product, not really a good response. If you want really good sound it appears you would have to spend $1000 or more. For the money, I think this one is on par or slightly above others in this price range.Update - I have moved the sub next to the soundbar from the side of the room. This has improved the sound quality, a little less bass but improved the midrange balance. Forgot to mention, this integrates very well with my Sony TV and setup was easy. I would buy it again.

All fancy hype, less than mediocre sound. Muffled muddy sound
I have struggled to write this review because I am big fan fan of Sony and used and possessed every one of them with pride. Though always expensive I have never been disappointed in their performance, I still own my two decade old last Walkman. This sound bar is expensive and have lot of goodies described to give you a theater experience. With all the expectation when I connected this to my TV output through optical input, it was a disaster. The sound feels so constraint, squeaky it has no clarityor depth. I tried to change optical output to PCM stereo, it's still same. Same optical cable connected to my two decade old receiver and Polk speakers roar with everything crystal clear. One can argue you can't compare it with a full fledged home theater setup. Agree but then I compared it with a small sound bar Philips (<$200), even that sounds better than this. Infact just LG OLED speakers sounds better, we never used that before this testing.First thing in sound is to achieve the clarity, truthfulness then any surround or bass matters. I have a small audio monitor for my desk, that sounds so much better than this. I think Sony engineers forgot the basic concept in sound while designing this. You need the clarity and fidelity of the sound first. All the fancy about up firing speaker to create a surround, how does it work for a 8', 10' or 20' feet high ceiling, are they all same? How about the listeners distance from speaker, 5' and 20' need same angle. What if a ceiling fan is running between me and speaker. The idea of reflected sound is spoiling the quality of this speaker. There is a reason in best auditoriums and theaters everything is done to minimize the sound reflection.Unfortunately this sound bar didn't have any analog input so I could not test it with an external DAC. This bar has only a HDMI and optical input. You will be better off with a simple DAC and amp with a pair of mid range speakers. All of that can be put together for less than the six hundred price tag for this and will sound much better. At this price tag this system sounds like a street corner music, mediocre loud just to fill the void.
