Does the job well.
Apart from slight difficulty for my arthritic fingers in inserting the SD card it has proven a very able workhorse. The video produced is of good quality considering the ancient home recorded VHS source material.

Flawed Design – Useless for Long Tapes
On paper, this looks like the perfect solution for digitising VHS, but in reality it has a fatal flaw. The device simply will not work reliably with the USB power connected.If you turn it on while plugged in, it immediately asks you to format the SD card, wiping anything you’ve recorded. If you power it on first and then plug it in, it seems to work… until you check the files and find them corrupted. That makes it completely useless for long recordings (e.g., 6-hour tapes) because you can’t run it from USB power — you’re stuck with the tiny internal battery.Without USB power, it records fine, but only until the battery dies, which for me is nowhere near long enough for a full tape.For shorter recordings it might be OK, but if you want to digitise full tapes without babysitting and recharging, look elsewhere.
