I bought this Master Lock for multiple rifle cases, and it does exactly what I need. Setting my own combination was quick and straightforward thanks to the clear instructions. Once set, the dials turn smoothly and feel solid. The build quality is solid for general use. It’s not meant for ultra-high security situations, but for luggage and rifle cases, it works perfectly (i.e., checks the compliance box for rifle cases in MA). I also like not having to carry a key around. Overall, reliable and convenient.

Works well for luggage and other instances, such as locker in hostels. Downside: it's hard to read the numbers due to light glare on the metal.

These luggage locks work perfectly! I used these while traveling this summer, no issues whatsoever. A very strong, secure, lock. They are easy to attach to just about any size luggage, easy on and off, no issues at luggage check-in at the airport. I felt confident ordering, as these are the "Master" lock brand, and I was not disappointed!

I have been so used to the padlock-type locks that I wasn't certain that I was going to like this cord-style offering from MasterLock. My first impression was not a great one. You basically have to press down on the cord and move it to the left or right to release and lock. I much prefer the solid padlock action as opposed to this. However, the appreciation for this lock came when I simply slid the flexible cord through my luggage zippers and then inserted it into the lock. So, if you have awkward locks on your suitcase, bags, lockers, or just about anything -- you now have far more maneuverability with this corded lock. Setting my own combination was very easy. Just be certain that it's initially set to "000" and that you are able to unlock it before attempting to set your own combination. It really is an effortless process. The quality of this lock is outstanding. Of course, it comes from Master Lock which has the best reputation in manufacturing reliable and dependable locking mechanisms. While I don't think this will protect your valuables 100% (as I am certain the cord can be cut with something), it does act as an excellent deterrent for most curious potential thieves. If you are looking for flexibility in a dependable locking mechanism look no further than this one!

Perfect lock for my travel bag

I had to get this for the Master Lock reputation. There were a few other close options, but I figured this would be worth the few extra bucks. Definitely was. The lock seems well built and cable is able to feed through zipper holes. For my use this is more of a deterrent than hard lock out. You can break zipper pulls with pliers, but this will deter the average snooper. It's pretty small so you can have it on your bag and not feel weighed down or worry about it looking out of place.

I needed locks for two pieces of luggage, and these do the job. The flexible cable could probably be cut fairly easily, so I wouldn’t consider them high-security locks. I personally prefer traditional solid steel locks, but these were available at a reasonable price. The combination is easy to set and change, and I trust the brand. For deterring casual tampering and basic travel use, they work as expected.

Just what I wanted and works really well. Reliable.

The code dials are flimsy, Loops are quite large so zips can still be opened a bit. Otherwise they do the job.
