Is the L size larger or smaller than the standard size?

The standard size fits head sizes 22.4 to 23.6 inches. The L size fits head sizes 24 to 24.5 inches

Why does my headband have a scent to it? as if it was rubbed with an essential oil. is it peppermint oil i smell? why has no one else mentioned this?

Ours did not come with any type of scent.

Does this work well with locs?

Depending on what size I'd say I'd work perfectly!
