Dogs still bark, but maybe not quite so often. Will give this some more time.
Next door are 3 pure bred, male, German Shepherds. Next door to them are more big dogs. Behind me is another big dog. All it takes is opening the screen door and the calliope begins. I have a tall wooden fence, so positioned the device into an opened knot hole toward the three big dogs. I took the advice of another reviewer and covered the flashing light with black electrical tape. Will go buy a new battery to see if that helps. One dog starts barking and they all join in, but maybe for a shorter duration now. Another reviewer stated that it takes some dogs a while to figure out that their barking causes the high pitch sound. Will give this a few more days. If successful, will purchase 1 for the back fence line. How very rude to permit dogs to continually bark. The barking goes on from before sun up until well after dark, depending on the time they get up to when they go to bed.

It's a MIRACLE!
I got this on Friday and tried it out with my dogs. They do NOT like it! Silence reigns supreme in my house ... but I didn't get it for my dogs. I got it for my neighbors dogs who will NOT stop barking. All day. Every day. And they are french bulldogs so it's not even a proper bark but this phlegmy sounding hacking that sounds like a lung cancer victim in the final stages. They are right outside my office window, and I work from home. Totally obnoxious! So I tested it with my dogs and saw it worked, so I put it out by the fence. It's now late morning on Monday and I have not heard so much as a peep from next door, barring one instance of barking for a moment when their owners came home. Then it was right back to the blessed silence! I don't know if they will get used to it, or how long it will work, but I'm already ordering another one for another neighbor who lives on the other side. I'm so excited at the prospect of silencing all the barking in my neighborhood. I love dogs, it's sad how many of them are left alone all day to howl and bark their boredom away.

Not horriable
It does work, well worked really well when we first got it, but I swear my little (ankle bitters) change their bark when they hear it go off. If they are closure to it in the yard it defiantly works but if they are 15 -20 feet or further away it doesn't seem to work as well. Has to be angles towards them as well. It still gets used, daily because it has helped reduce the barking about 25% of the time.

Worked at first, then dogs ignored it.
It “seemed” to work for the first few barking episodes, or when the dogs are close to it. But, when they get excited, they bark as if it isn’t there. I’ve tried each setting with no joy.We have an Irish Russel terrier and a large chihuahua terrier mix. The Chi only seems to care about shock collars.I also set this up on the back fence aimed into a neighbor’s yard. They have a shepherd that whines and barks almost constantly when they boot him out. Zero effect. I have better luck “shush”ing him.So, 2 stars, because it worked a couple times. I’m going back to shock collars.

Doesn’t work for our dogs, but seems to work for our neighboring dogs.
I gave this device 4 stars because it feels off to review it badly when it seems to work for most other people. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked for us. I’m still holding out hope, but we have ours positioned exactly following the directions and have slowly gone up to the highest setting hoping that the next level would make a difference, and it does not seem to help our dogs stop barking. They still bark constantly. I knew our dogs would be a challenge as they’re chihuahuas and seem programmed to bark at absolutely anything and everything. I gave this device 4 stars however, because although it didn’t seem to work for our dogs, somehow it seems to be helping our neighbors dogs bark less so I guess that’s an upside to it.

Doesn't know a dog bark from a teenager or a TV
Ordered two of these... one for outside, one for inside... I have 4 dogs at home right now. One of them is my daughter's and is a complete instigator. She barks at nothing and everything and sets the other 3 off until they're in a complete frenzy. Turned one of these on to test it yesterday when they got delivered and was watching the lights on it when my teenager came into the room.... It goes off when the teenager gets excited and a little loud and that's not fair to the dogs. The instigator runs fleeing from the room and won't come back, and the other 3 try to crawl into my pockets hoping I will save them from the sound. I had to turn it off and cannot use it. It's not teaching them anything if it's making the horrible noise when they're not even barking.Note: Because of the teenager incident, I tested it while the dogs were outside by turning it on (only level 1) inside the house and turned the TV on... watched the red light going off simply to the sound of the TV. This is ridiculous!

Doesn't seem to work when the dog is in the ...
Doesn't seem to work when the dog is in the house barking its head off. The owner has no control over it. This dog will bark for HOURS! I think it might work somewhat when he's out on the patio. I have it hanging on the fence facing their patio. I might end up with a dog whistle.

Did not work for me...
Oh darn. I missed the return window so I’ll just toss this in the trash. We hooked on our fence to stop the neighbor’s dog from barking every dang morning. But this thing just made him bark even more!😂 He’d bark, this thing would would emit a sound, and then he bark at the sound, then it would make another sound, and he’d bark at that sound...sigh! That went on for a 20 minutes before I finally gave up and took this dang thing down.
