Herschel Nova Backpack, Black, Mid-volume 18.0L

Nice looking. Perfect for a trip to Disneyland and to take on the plain. Pink color is good.

I’ve had this one for about a year now. It’s traveled with me overseas, it’s been with me on hiking trips, and as my everyday purse to and from work. I’ve ran it through the washing machine and shoved it in my work locker a hundred times. This thing is sturdy!!! And it’s so cute. I’d say it fits every item you need while you’re out and about. I keep my wallet, phone, full size hairbrush, lipstick, gum and vitamins, and still have room for a water bottle. I love it!!!

I wanted a plain black backpack but not too basic. I also wanted to get a more compact backpack than the 15” Fjallraven since I’m only 5 feet tall. I was going to get the smaller size but I was worried I wouldn’t be able to fit my 13” MacBook Pro. I’m glad I went for this size because it fit my laptop, 3 1-subject notebooks, a thin planner, graphic calculator, and pencil case. I can fit more but it would get harder. The outer small pocket is pretty big. I have painkillers, stapler, hand sanitizer, AirPods, mascara, and a 3oz hand lotion. The straps are not padded which I was worried about but it felt the same as my old padded Fjallrave which I don’t mind. That way I make sure I don’t pack more than what I need. The zipper is a little stiff but it was obvious it was going to be. I have no issue closing the zipper with one hand sometimes. I’m very happy with the bag.

This is my summer bag. I saw someone else with this backpack at fireworks and had to know where she got it. It's too bright and screams summer. It's very sturdy... Almost too sturdy. It's not soft but it holds it's shape and has a rougher canvas material with very sturdy gold zippers that are hard to open and close sometimes. It's in the smaller side, just what I wanted. I get lots of compliments. But it's time to put it away for the fall.

Love this backpack! The measurements were definitely not correct tho, that’s why i knocked off a star. This was supposed to be 14.75” tall, it’s not. But i can work with that. However some people can’t and it needs to be accurate. I wanted a “plain” backpack that was nice looking but not to blingy. I love pastel pink and purple. They didn’t have a pastel purple, so pink it was. I’m not 12 so i wanted something that looked feminine but didn’t make me look like a wannabe tween with some crazy design. The color and quality make it stand out, i didn’t need bedazzle to overdo it like most women’s backpacks do. Love the colors. Hopefully Herschel hears my cries for a lavender color and I’ll invest in another bag!! The zipper is the BEST part. It’s a quality, solid metal zipper! Not a flimsy plastic zipper. The canvas material is very sturdy. The inside seems well sewn. It fits my 13.5” MacBook and my 12.9” iPad with cases on them. The front pocket fits my laptop charger and my graphing calculator. I’m very impressed for the price point. I’ll have to come back after several months of use to update on the wear and tear of it. Me and my HarleyQuill (my Hedgie) approve lol.

I was looking for a mini backpack that could hold a fair amount of items yet didn’t look as sporty as it did classy- this fits the bill. I ordered the ash rose color which reminds me of a dusty rose color, it’s very feminine yet muted not to draw too much attention. I can fit a 16oz water bottle, wallet, small zip up bag with various items, my phone, and keys. Previously I had tried out the carhart mini backpack in the dark green color. I ended up sending it back and going for this one because the zipper was more difficult to use and it wasn’t quite as classy as this one.

This is a great bag-I bought it to take on vacation as my purse. It’s nice and roomy inside-big enough for a wallet and a water bottle. The only downside is the metal zipper which is a bit hard to zip and unzip. I rubbed some olive oil on mine and that helped a lot with getting the zipper to glide more smoothly.

Not really sure why this brand is so popular. Just feels like a generic backpack without any organizers inside. It says 14.1 inches but because it rounds off at the top, it won't fit a 13" laptop. I'll return it and get something else.
