The string and the reel are great quality. You have to be really careful that the line is straight and coming off the reel as intended while in use, otherwise it could get extremely tangled. Also, if you have big kites as these are intended for such as the nine footers I've used, it is harder than it should be to reel in. Therefore not suitable for weak kids if you are using them for big kites.

Winder arrived with alot of line off the reel. Line arrived very twisted. Took me over 1 hour to untangle the mess. Good thing I am a fisherman and used to untangling wind knots. Once I got untangled I reeled the line (about 50 ft) back onto the reel. The reel sounds like it has rocks in it not ball bearings! Very noise and rough rolling. Works but not great. PRO is that the hand hold was very good. I have large hands and was worried about the size. no problem holding the reel winder.

It was heavy duty not flimsy. It will work well with the kites

Finally got my husband to shut up! So much string even the oldest kite flyer will be happy.
