PowerSmart is an Excellent Lawn Mower!
Received it fast...took my time reading the manual. Made sure the assembly was correct...which was rather easy...added the required oil...added gas and pulled the lever and it started up beautifully!. It's powerful...very strong pull...but, as you get used to it, it gets easier...the lawn looks great...I would recommend this lawn mower to anyone who needs one. Glad I made this choice.

Broken wheel after 12 uses
11 months old and I’ve used it to mow my lawn 12 times. Today the left wheel stopped driving making it near impossible to keep straight.Fast forward to May 2020 - mowing today (it’s a push mower now as it won’t drive anymore) the righ side rear wheel just fell off!And the issue from last year, was never resolved. Got in touch with support and they asked which parts I need. I’m not a lawnmower engineer, how should I know?!? Just send whatever parts make the wheel turn when the engine spins. Never heard back.

Self-propelled only lasted one season, get horrible chest pains when holding onto it.
Update: The self-propelled mechanism died after only one season. It no longer pulls itself as of this spring, but I took the gears off so it would free-wheel and it cuts grass just fine. It is no longer self-propelled, probably Chinese cheap mechanism.Update: 6-9-20I get horrible chest pains when holding onto this mower when it is running. I didn't have angina or heart problem before now, but maybe this mower is connecting to a satellite or cell tower. The frequency it is emitting is strong according to my Amazon GQ 380 meter and this mower is really zapping me with EMF and electric field.I mowed nearly 1/4 acre with this mower which started on the first pull. I had tall grass as tall as weeds and weeds too & this mower ran over all of it. In the really thick stuff that is overgrown you might release the drive and let it stop and catch up. It died out several times because the weeds and grass were too thick, so maybe take a half cut or part of the row in tall grass and let it catch up. It's just the right walking speed for me, not too fast but moves right along. If an old 68 year old diabetic with arthritis can use this then probably so can you. It's powerful and smooth running. I'll never use a push mower again! When this baby dies I'll either fix it or buy another one of these.July 6, 2021I finally bought another brand of self-propelled mower and will retire this one and maybe harvest the motor for a go kart.

Looks smart, runs great.
I have owned this monster mower for a few months now, here's what you need to know.It is not lightweight, nor is it heavy, is somewhere in the middle, think Goldilocks eating baby bears porridge, it's just right. It looks cool, wait why should you care about that?! There's really no reason you need this information unless you are planning on shooting a music video and needed to KNOW the mower you are buying is photogenic.I mow 4 acres every week, in an ideal world those aforementioned acres would be flat, but alas that is not the case, think a 50/50 split of hills and flat area. This monster never fails to climb the hills with ease.Hey! You are still reading, great! Let us talk power, the given name of this mower is PowerSmart DB8621S. After getting to know the PS mower I have changed its name for a couple of reasons. 1. Saying "I'm going to mow the lawn with the PowerSmart" Is not nearly as fun as saying "I'm going to take the monster for a lawn walk"2. Calling my lawnmower "The Monster" makes me feel like mowing the lawn is more metal than mundane.3. I am totally happy with this mower, it starts up without much effort, it runs smooth, with a great deal of power and most importantly it gets the job done in style.

Love the mower
Great mower.Pros: self-propelled feature helps get job done faster and great for mowing uphill; mulched leaves helps clean yard and easy bag removal; starts with easy pull (so far) and no priming.Cons: without self-propelled feature engaged, a little heavier to guide than other mowers I've used in the past; directions booklet awful--positioning lower handles critical for rest of assembly and not clear in tiny diagram photos--assembly took longer than it should have

Desperately trying to contact and purdchase replacement parts.
I purchased this modeled in 2018 and really liked it. Recently, the two rear wheels fell off. I and my maintenance person have been trying to make contact and order replacement wheels. We cannot make contact; nothing appears on the Power Smart website regarding replacement parts (manuals have replacement parts page with phone number and web site). Will any rear wheels from the models currently display work as replacement wheels for my model? We tried various suppliers to compare wheels to see if there are any comparable that would work. I would very much like to have manufacturer or aftermarket support contact me with a way to take care of this. This is a perfectly good machine that just needs two new wheels. I wouldn't buy another Power Smart if it is not going to be supported.

Buy it
I read many reviews and looked at many other gas and electric mowersI was a little hesitant given some of the reviews but if you want my opinion Buy It!It worked first pull out of the boxI am on 1/3 acre and have cut wet and dry grassIt’s a beast and will handle anythingLittle fast to keep up with self propelled and you have to be observant when to disengage the self propelled functionI am extremely pleased with this mower and believe me I looked at all gas and electric. Thus is bang for bucks and you get power and function that cost double elsewhere

Not what I ordered.
I am 70 yrs old and needed a self-propelled lawnmower. My husband who is 74 did not check to see if it was what I ordered. I have never had any problems in the past and I assumed it was the right item. Well, he being excited (new toy) got the oil, etc. and started it right up. No self-propelled. I am so disappointed.
