Ski Queen, Gjetost Cheese, 8.8 Ounce

Haven't tasted it yet, but it looks fine. The price is through the roof. I ate this as a little girl in Norway and this was traditional among all families because all could afford it.

Normally I love this cheese. Amazing flavor, great on a cracker plain or with some jam. This arrives floating in a box with some compression socks. Not insulated. Not chilled. Not even close to being cool. Warm, squishy and slimy. I don’t know if it’s safe to eat.

My daughter and I went on a cruise to Antarctica. The trip was sensational! and one of the takeaways was that onboard the 5-star kitchened ship, an abundant Charcuterie was set out for us at every meal. On that board, we discovered this caramelly, sweet, creamy Gjetost. At every meal, we had a cube or more. Neither of us had ever had it before. So, when I got home, I started looking for it. And, of course, Amazon has it. I've been ordering this cheese for both my daughter and myself for over a year now. I keep some in the fridge for guests (if we ever get to have guests and family at home again . . . . this pandemic!!) - and so with no guests, I've got the whole block of sweet cheese to myself. This cheese is divine by itself, sided with grapes and a nice salami but I'm having it now on grilled cheese sandwiches, on toasted cheese with avocado, with cheese and jelly! It's so creamy, that it melts kindly on toast and works as a spread (bring it to room temp) on baguettes. Give it a try. Yes, you'll be remembering it for a long time.

I love this cheese and haven't been able to find it in my local markets. I ordered it previously, was delivered to my mailbox in the hot summer sun without my knowledge- very expensive. I wrote several emails to the seller, never received any reply, refund or even an acknowledgement. I've ordered it 2 more times, luckily it was only in my mailbox for a day because I kept checking. I would definitely not purchase from this seller again if I can find another source. I guess I'm addicted.

I actually found out about Ski Queen caramel cheese from a TikTok video and had to try it for myself. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of those “wait… why is this so good?” moments, but I’d have to admit the package was a bit smaller than I was expecting The texture is smooth, creamy, and almost fudge like, with a rich sweetness. The caramel flavor isn’t too overpowering , it blends into the cheese and gives it a really unique dessert meets savory vibe. I added it to a small charcuterie board with crackers and fruit, and it easily became the standout. It pairs especially well with apples or anything slightly tart to balance the sweetness. Now for the downside, shipping. Mine arrived a little worse for wear due to the heat, and it had that greasy, slightly melted look when I opened it. Not the best first impression, and I purchased two packs. That said, after a few hours in the fridge, it firmed back up and tasted perfectly fine. If you’re ordering this, I’d recommend cooler weather or making sure it doesn’t sit outside too long. But if you’re curious and like trying unique foods, this one is definitely worth it.

I picked this up to make a carnivore dieters dessert. I did a 14 or 16 day fast, and when I started eating again my body flat out told me 'NO!' to certain foods. Apparently Milk. Unfortunately cheese. Yep. Guess what else my body said no to? Bacon/Pork. Oh. Egg whites also (the dogs aren't complaining). And Sugar. Most foods in fact. How can I eat the cow but the cows milk say's - No You Don't? Chicken is good...as long as its not breaded. Fish? Same. I'll live with this though. 40 lbs within a month. 40 more to go since my body wants to lose weight. Easiest diet EVER! Crazy, since I wasn't on a diet.

This is really good cheese but there was some mixup in the shipping and it was not delivered.

I am so positively surprised first of all with the taste, it is just like being at home in Norway having my favorite cheese. Another big plus was that the cheese was wrapped and sent une protection and ice and arrived fresh and in perfect state to my door in Miami. I am more than impressed and my daughter is overly happy to have her fav cheese from Norway
