Loft bed with tons of storage
*Update at the bottom*I put this bed up last weekend for my 8 year old. I highly suggest for anyone who purchases this to leave it where the delivery person has dropped the boxes and just take it piece by piece to the room where it's going to be put together. It comes in three (very heavy) numbered boxes and you should assemble box 1 before moving to box 2 and box 3. It took me roughly 10 hours to put together by myself. I did need a drill as there were no predrilled holes for the ladder and I also had to buy new drawer slides for the desk drawer as one broke. I also found the instructions kind of difficult as none of the screws and bolts are labled in packaging and the assembly diagrams also caused some confusion. That was probably the most frustrating part of the assembly. Now, on to the pros and cons of this bed.Pros-there is actually a lot of storage. The dresser drawers are bigger than I expected. The sliding desk draw is an added plus. The open shelf and the bookshelf on the opposite side are awesome. My biggest worry when purchasing this bed was that there wouldn't be enough storage and I was surpringly wrong. We couldn't even fill all of the storage areas. My daughter absolutely loves the bed and loves the hiding area underneath. I also didn't realize it came with an LED strip light, but she enjoys using it when she is camping out underneath the bed. The bed area is also really deep compared to other loft and bunk bed we have had. We have a 6 in. spring mattress now, but the bed can definitely accommodate a thicker mattress safely. The hiding area underneath is pretty spacious for a child too.Cons- as I said previously, the sliding hardware for the desk drawer broke while I was assembling it and had to go to the hardware store for replacements. The hardware that comes has a mechanism that locks the drawer, so it stays in place when it is out. That's great in theory, but since even I had trouble with it (and it ultimately broke) I can imagine it would be even more difficult for a child to figure out. The backing for the dresser and wardrobe is foldable cardboard that you have to nail down, which is my least favorite thing about the loft bed. I think it is still pretty flimsy, even with all the nails in. The storage cube area next to the desk is also too small for the standard sized baskets that you find in store. It wasn't a huge deal, but it made finding two extra baskets a bit more difficult. There was also a small amount of damage on different pieces of the bed, but most of it ended up being hidden away with assembly. I did not expect it to be 100% damage free given how big and heavy the boxes were.Although there is a lot of things that I love about this loft bed, I still question if it is worth the price we paid. I don't think I can answer that only a week later, so I will say that it's a solid 4 stars for now.*Update*As expected, the cardboard panelling behind the dresser and wardrobe lasted maybe a month. We're replacing it with a sturdy piece of panelling from the hardware store. Daughter has lost a couple of books, toys, and socks in her bed as they've fallen between the mattress and side walls. I kind of hate how deep the bed area is for that reason and it's a PITA to change bed sheets. The bed as a whole is still together and holding up.

Dont be afraid to do this! It’s a beautiful bed! READ MY “Single Momma” HACK FOR EASIER ASSEMBLY!
Arrived in 3 MASSIVELY HEAVY BOXES. Each box had to weigh AT LEAST 200 pounds. Ok so here’s the thing- if you’re a single mom like me, don’t be afraid to buy this in fear if not being able to put it together by yourself or carry the ridiculously heavy boxes in. You can do this by yourself, and it’s actually an incredibly rewarding experience at the end when you are all done. It’s like a mini ego boost, to do something of this magnitude, without the help of anyone. Here’s the way I did this, and I hope this helps someone else!1: don’t try to lift these boxes- they are stupid heavy. Look at the labels on each box ( box 1,2,3) Open JUST Box #1 - do not touch the other boxes.2: Take all the pieces out of box one and set the pieces up in the room that the bed will be built in. Make sure you have enough free space to do 3 cartwheels and 5 somersaults. Seriously, you will need a ton of free space maneuver yourself and your project without hitting walls.3: MOST IMPORTANT STEP! Take your directions out and all of your screws, bolts, ect. Grab 10-15 bowls from the kitchen and some craft tape or self stick labels you can write on. Separate every single group of nuts and bolts and screws, and place them in each bowl along the wall. Number each bowl with your tape, by writing the actual number that correlates with that particular screw. For instance, screw #108, bolt #654, ect. The numbers of each group are in your directions. This hack will save you so much time and you will be happy you did this once you see the amount of work involved with your project. There aren’t ANY extra pieces, so don’t lose any!! If you have a big kid who can read numbers, you can ask them for help while you’re putting the monstrosity together. “Jonny, plz hand me 5 of those things in bowl #653 “ OH, and one more thing; DONT TRY TO USE JUST A SCREWDRIVER! The directions say not to use a drill, but I did and I’m pretty sure I saved myself 6 hours by doing so. Your arm will fall off if you try to use handpower for this thing. Just be careful with your cordless low power drill and don’t go too fast or hard on the screws. Slow and steady with it.4: After you’ve separated all your nuts and bolts and screws, you now have to separate your boards into the groups that go into. It will be in your directions on that first box 1 page. This is easy and will save you time as well.5. Follow each direction step by step, and once you’ve completed Box one, then move on to box 2. At this point, you need to place what you’ve constructed into the EXACT location it’s going to stay. You CANNOT MOVE THIS BED ONCE ITS PUT TOGETHER!!6: Since you’ve already separated all your nuts and bolts from box one, that’s it for those. There’s no more in the other boxes. You just need to group together the Boards in the groups they will be built into. It’s smooth sailing as long as you follow your directions (and mine lol!)7: You will get to Box 3, and want to quit. Don’t. It’s not as bad as it seems.Total project time for me; one person- 10 hours/2 days of work. Good luck!! I hope this helps someone out there!!! If you do this the right way, it will be easy peasy lemon squeeze!

VERY Cheaply Made and Horrible Customer Service
Very cheaply made. They cut corners on cost every where. They didn't even bother finishing the edge of the drawer on the bottom. So 3 edges are finished but the one isn't. The drawer bottoms are like a thin cardboard. You cannot put anything heavy in the drawers. Many of the boards arrived with dents, black marks or damaged. None due to the shipping. Someone seen the damaged pieces and still packaged and sent them (no way to miss the obvious damage when packaging). Hardware is very cheap. My husband is very good with building things and this bed still sways. I would be worried with any kids over 100lbs. Never should you have more than one kid in the bed playing, the movement would make it unsafe. The lights that came with it didn't work. The drawer on the desk will break soon. It is so cheaply made. The directions can be hard to follow. The 3 boxes it arrives in are very heavy and you need a lot of space to build the bed. I read don't open box 2 and 3 until you have box one built (so you don't mix the pieces) but then we didn't notice all the damaged pieces until the bed was 1/3 built. Their customer service is horrible. We went back and forth over the same thing over and over. We were missing a piece of hardware and they could not figure out what piece it was even after I sent pictures, told them & sent pictures of where is went, sent pictures of the directions showing the part number and a picture of it. It was like they were just trying to stall to get out of the return window frame. I have wasted so much time on this cheap bed. This bed is absolutely not worth $800. Even at $300 you would be over paying.
