Ops Core Helmet Rail Mount for The HL1 Helmet Light

I bought this adapter clip to mount my Streamlight helmet light on the rail of my ballistic helmet. It is sure enough tight fitting to the rails so I coated the rails with a film of gun lube grease as far back as I thought I would push it back, using a cotton swab. I also coated the little shoe on the clip too. Slid right on so easy and it will come off as easy too. This is a quality product that is made tough and will last, a very good compliment to the light and should be included with every helmet flashlight of this type Streamlight sells. All said, I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend it to everyone who has this helmet flashlight. Just put a dab of grease on the upper and lower helmet rails as well as the clip’s shoe and it is an easy install. Pros: solidly made, works well. Cons: high price, should be included free with every helmet flashlight of this model.

It's such a tight fit that I had to build a wooden tool (just a simple rectangle the width of the rail with a notch cut out to accommodate the clip) and use a rubber hammer to get it onto the rail (or move it from spot to spot) without breaking it. Other than that it's fantastic. I just wish it came with the light rather than an extra purchase. And that it came in black, since my light is black and it looks a bit odd over a tan mount. Having said that, I'm glad I bought it.

Fits well. Put this one my gentex flight helmet. Easy to mount and didn’t break anything. Light and strong for sure.

wiggles a little in ops core rails but the light has stayed put in multiple mil sim games and regular use

Great mount for my helmet. It slides on with a little resistance, but it’s sturdy. The mount even lets you tilt the surefire, which was a feature I found out about accidentally!

This mount is awesome. My brother gave me this surefire light when he got out of the army but it only had the MICH mount. This mount is amazing. The light can pivot so its not just fixed in a certain angle. I really couldn't be happier with it. Well worth the money

I have the FMA rails on a ballistic helmet. This ratcheting light mount comes on a section of Picatinny that slides into the rails. With the FMA rails there is a little slop that allows the mount wiggle and make noise. I wrapped the base of the Picatinny in electrical tape and it made it a tight fit with no wiggle or noise. The mount description says it's for Ops Core rails and I have FMA rails....not sure the specs are the same but this is what I did to fix the fit issue.

OK the paint-ballers are watching their pennies but this is a case where that might bite you. There are inexpensive helmet rail mounts for the Surefire HL1 light; but what if it breaks? Surefire builds the best and when you come back in from the field you want to see that your mount did not fall or tear off your helmet. Chances are your light went with it.
