Perfect in every aspect
Owning this gps drone has been a game-changer for my content creation. The 4K video quality allows for smooth zooming and panning without any loss of sharpness. The GPS-assisted flight modes, such as follow-me and waypoint navigation, add a new level of creativity. I can focus on my subject while the drone autonomously follows and captures the perfect shots. And I was initially skeptical about investing in a drone, but this one has proven to be worth every penny. The long flight time giving me ample time to explore different angles and locations during a single flight. The build quality is also top-notch, with a sturdy frame that can withstand minor bumps and knocks. Whether I'm flying it in an open field or a more confined space, I feel confident that it will do good.

Glitchy at best
Item is packaged nicely and has simply enough instructions. The drone is lightweight and appears functional. After taking the time to calibrate the drone and go through all set up steps, finally pressed "auto-take off" and the drone took flight. The hand held remote captured clear images in real-time, but the drone seemed to be stuck accelerating and veering to a side. It just kept flying away in a straight line and the remote would not control the drone. Inevitably, the drone left the receiver's range and was lost connection. The drone did not return to take-off location when out of range, as manufacturer claims it would. Drone gone and I am left with an extra battery and a hand-held remote.

Value for Money
Pros: - The camera is centred and not skewed to one side. - The drone has GPS RTB feature. - This drone has a controller that has a screen and required not a cell phone to operate. - The drone is under 250 grammes. (All the points above were factors that were a requirement.) - The drone has a 4K video that records good videos. - The drone does a decent job of holding position. - The drone comes with one extra battery. - The drone operations are well explained in a video available free online. - For the price, this drone deserves a 4.5 out of 5 rating, but here, a rating of 5 is given because 4.5 is not an option. - This appears to be a rebranded S159 GPS drone that seems to have good reviews. Cons: - The drone is best landed manually and GPS mode should be avoided because it does not work all the time because it might lose satellite connection even though it will not take off without having made detected at least 9 satellites. - The landing can be a bit rough so it is best to take off and land from grassy areas with no tree or pole within at least 5 metres from the take off position. - The drone loses altitude when turning, strafing, advancing, and retreating. - The drone lacks ultra-slow turning, strafing, ascending, descending, advancing, retreating, and camera rotation ability. Advice: Successfully complete the FAA certified Remote Pilot Certificate before flying this or any other drone in this category. See enclosed media.

Close, but missed the mark!
I wanted so much to like this S159 drone. I’ve worked with several other budget drones under $300 myself and wanted a drone for my grandson. I wasn’t expecting much, and with even that I was disappointed. I only needed a somewhat reliable drone which worked without a phone. It was also confusing since most of the ‘intelligent’ features are only available using the phone app controller and not on the remote control itself. I’ll begin my review with what I didn’t like based on the product description and the box labeling. I realize there seems to be some quality control issues, so I’m only commenting on my specific drone…which I’ll be returning. The hand control does NOT have a touch screen as stated on the product box. The obstacle avoidance feature only applies to flying indoors without GPS. There is NO EIS Anti-Shake feature in the picture quality, and thus it’s pretty jittery since the drone wobbles a bit. All video and pictures are stored on the controller itself, so the video feed received at the controller is what is recorded/saved. While I didn’t experience ‘toilet bowling” on takeoff, that symptom seemed to occur on every return to home…and yes it did connect to enough satellites. It only includes 4 spare propellers where most drones include a full replacement set of 8 or 2 sets of 16. What I did like were the features for the cost, which on the surface make this product a good value. The batteries though taking ‘forever’ to charge…do seem to last about 30 minutes each and you get a good power level readout on the drone itself. It also includes a micro SD card. Now to the two remote control options. The handheld controller does a pretty good job but takes a very long time to connect to the drone and then obtain satellite locks. There are no intelligent features on this remote. The remote-control construction is fair but low-quality materials. The included 32Gb microSD card is inserted in the control but is easily corrupted if you do not stop recording before turning off the controller. Though it’s implied by the built-in phone holder and in the included instructions, the handheld remote can work in tandem with the phone app. However in practice the two ‘remotes’ tend to fight each other for a connection to the drone. The phone app ‘RX Drone’ is a fairly generic app with many features and seems to be updated regularly. This app exposes all the ‘intelligent’ features but is difficult to use since you must also expose the virtual control pad on the screen. The virtual control pad is a bit sensitive depending on your screen and fingertips. Your phone/tablet MUST have GPS hardware for the app to install. I was expecting and hoping that when I first opened the app and connected to the drone’s Wi-Fi, I would be told of a firmware update, but never received any such alert. Most of the screen display is intuitive, but the main readouts for battery life and satellites are tiny. While you can pull up the (Google) maps, it is always zoomed out to the entire world so you must hit a button to center and zoom the map locally. Likewise, there are no map display options. On almost every occasion I received a flashing warning about restricted airspace, even though the nearest restricted airspace is 25 miles away. Most settings are only accessed by first bringing up the functions menu. There is a (single) waypoint feature which allows placing multiple waypoints on the map, including settings for each waypoint, but I couldn’t ever get it to work. Some of those settings (speed, altitude) never change and there is no indication of how to get the drone to begin the flightpath. Therefore, I didn’t try the other intelligent features such as follow me or surround. All in all, this might be a good drone for an adult with large open spaces available to work around the flawed features, which appear to be firmware or software based.

Funnest drone
Very happy with the drone. Its not fast, its for filming. Pans nice, stable hover, nice video. My case didn't last very long. Zipper and strap broke, wish the case was more durable. Alerts come in Chinese, it'd be nice if they were in English.

The video was initially working after some days stopped working. Drone going out of control not working on app.
