Great tortilla press!
I love this tortilla press! I have used it to press the corn tortillas and they came out beautifully. The weight is good when you press down and it is very easy to maintain. I highly recommend.

Chicken Squisher Achieved!
I bought this mainly to squish my chicken :) I'm a lifter, so eat a ton of chicken (which I love), and make it ahead of time for the week in a pressure cooker, rationing the chicken into separate containers for each day. I eat it cold, with some baby carrots. Using a pressure cooker to make chicken is great, and it tastes great (to me) fresh out of the cooker with nothing more than some garlic powder. However, I don't like the way 'wet' and cold chicken tastes after it cools down, so I've been draining the chicken of water shortly after its cooled down enough (from the pressure cooker) to hold in the hand and squeeze the bejeezus out of it (and the water along with it). This got annoying after a long while, so started thinking of a chicken squisher, couldn't find one, so got this instead as the next best thing :)I was worried about using this for that purpose, as cast iron is hit and miss in terms of breaking if its cheap quality. I can say after a pot of chicken squishing, this press has held up nicely. I don't push down on the handle all the way to horizontal, as I'm pretty sure that might make it snap (chicken takes us a lot more room than a tortilla/arepa), but i don't baby it either, and the picture is the result. I'm very happy with this. One change I would make to the device however, is that the bolt that makes the hinge between the two circular parts is permanent, i.e. not meant to be taken out, and hence you can't fully separate the two halves for thorough cleaning. The handle bolt is removable though. However, seeing how its cast iron, and you don't want to scrub it squeaky clean like a normal pot, maybe i'll just get used to it.

Item seems to be ok even though item box was completely torn up into pieces.
I was very surprised at the condition this NEW item came it. It was not packed very well in the delivery box and must have really been tossed around in delivery. Everything seems to be there and item working but not able to store it now in the box. It was also delivered to the wrong house yesterday and the receiver brought it to our house today. Amazed at how this happened!! Our house number is in three different places and easy to see!!

Sturdy, well made and easy to use.
The only thing that I would point to is that the description of the Tortilla press did not say that you needed to Line both sides of press with parchment or plastic. The information stated that the Tortilla press was seasoned which normally indicates that I would not need to line the surfaces of the press which is an irritation. But after my second tortilla, I got used to it and it makes beautiful round Tortilla shells with little effort. Great machine at a reasonable price.
